Question Where to get Service Manual

The dealer can order a 99-03 manual for me covering the TL/TLS for $67.

What have others paid?

If the dealer is close by get it through them to save the shipping. It's unbeleiveable how much info is packed into the manual.

I hate to be anal, but is this Helm manual the right manual for my 2003 TL Type S? It just says TL, and I want to be sure I get the right one. I have found that I am desperately ignorant of entirely too much, and wish to change that in regards to knowledge of my car. Plus it's $69 and don't want to get the wrong one.

Plus, I want to mod myself, enjoy the experience, and save some dough!

Ok, but you have the TL-P. I am wondering if the 2003 Type S requires a different manual? Because I thought there would be significant differences between the TL-P and TL-S at the most technical of levels.

So does that manual suffice or what?

It's in the owners manual...

There's an order form in the back of the owners manual for two types of service manuals. I don't have it in front of me right now, but I believe one was for mechanical info, and one for electrical info.

I could be wrong about the specific type of service manuals, but I do remember seeing an order form for service manuals in the owners manual. They were published by Helms. Try checking there to see if the catalog numbers are the same.

When in doubt, read the owners manual... there's more in there than you think.:wow:

I haven't ordered mine yet, but plan to do so soon. Good luck!

Or order it direct from Helm's Inc

http://www.helminc.com/helm/Search2R...7SE1NGNVFNBB76

If your year model is not listed, give them a call..they WILL have it. I think their website is not updated. All dealers buy those manuals from them.

Per Acura, this manual will cover all 3.2TL models 1999-2003.

We appreciate your business and look forward

Hey southy,
Kinda quiet these days. How the heck are ya? I've had the RMB-8 kicker lying around for almost a month now and I'm starting to get the itch again. Maybe this week I'll throw it in.

You still coming out here in the fall? The offer still stands!(lobster bisque and becks dark)

Hey Iggy,
Yeah, I've just been relaxing a bit from the board. I've got a lot of heavy deadlines coming up at work trying to get a new DTV Transmitter on the air up at Mt. Wilson by the end of this year. It basically came down to take vacation in JULY or else not get any this year. Therefore, I just got back from a nice vacation up in the Canadian Rockies. Spent time between Banff and Jasper hiking and canoeing. It was great! But, sadly, I won't be able to get away in the fall as I had hoped earlier in the year. I REALLY appreciate the Lobster and Becks Dark offer though... that's hard to turn down!

I've been digging up old scope photos that I had taken years ago of the infamous "terminator mod". I'd like to post it online just so that interested people and skeptics could see what the effect on the wavefore actually looks like. There are some subtle rise time, ringing, and damping type differences. If you can actually see signal waveform alterations... then your EARS have got to also hear the difference. If I could post the pics, you could at least know that there's some definite improvements going on, even if they are voodoo in theory, and too subtle for some people's ears to appreciate. I don't have a server location that I feel comfortable using to FTP jpeg files to for use on this board. I also don't have an easy way to ship them via FTP. Since you have posted many pics... perhaps I could email you the jpeg pix files and you could post them for me? If not, don't worry about it... at least you could see for yourself what you are improving by a simple RC network. I do wish that I had your extra amp installed. At times, I do need more power before the head unit starts to go to mush... but I can't find the time or effort to take on the project just yet. Who knows what the future may bring? I'm just trying to live with my modest upgrade at this point. It's a decent improvement.

Sadly, I've had some very negative experiences by giving my email address out to the general public. So I won't post it here. But, If you don't have the same paranoia, I could contact you off-line if I knew your address. If I can't trust someone named "Iggy" who can you trust? BTW, I flew UAL to Calgary and back... Great service... Love the ATC headphone channel. Makes me feel like I've stepped up to a THICK logbook!

Keep up the great posts! and we'll have to postpone the bisque and beer this year. I DO LOVE your neck of the woods come the first week in October! I have never seen anything quite so awe inspiring as the New England Fall foliage. Do you ever get used to it, and forget to notice after living in it for years? Or do you still take it all in with a nice deep breath?

Take care,
Southy
