I'm looking for a plain vanilla replacement muffler (one). Is there a good place to get it from? I looked at autopartwarehouse and they didn't have it listed. Also, would replacing a broken muffler be a fairly idiot proof diy job?

the connection between muffler and the rest of the exhaust pipe looks like it has a lot of rust around the bolts/junction.

It is pretty simple. Use some liquid wrench, let it soak and see if u can use a breaker bar to break them loose. If not, torch em for a little and go for it again.

 

Thanks. the oem parts had a slightly better deal and I ordered from them. Although the folks from the other place were quick and curtious. I saved over $200 (incl labor) over local midas quote .

 

I have an extra muffler from when I put exhaust on my car the connector joint is cut off but you can just have it welded on for cheap if you like. Id sell it to you for $15 plus shipping if you are interested
