Exclamation Where to get Original remote?

Hey guys,

I'm recently got my 2002 3.2TL-S and the car came without an alarm, or atleast thats what I think, because the seller didnt have the remote. All he gave me was an original key, and a copy.

When I asked for the remote, he said he didnt have it, so now I want to install an alarm into my car, but I'm not sure if it already has one, BUT I also want to use the original remote for the car.

I looked on ebay, and there are quite of few of them that are on sale, but then I looked around on this forum, and someone said that the FCC ID has to match with my car or something like that. So where do I get this FCC ID? I didn't receive an Owners Manual with the car.

All I would like to do right now is to install the ORIGINAL Acura Remote into my car along with the alarm.

Can anybody please give me some tips on how I can accomplish this, thanks.

All TLs came standard with a security system and keless entry. They came with two remotes, #1 and #2 you can set them to use the seat/mirror memory buttons #1 and #2.. love that feature.. don't have to jack with mirrors and seats after wife drives the car.
I'm pretty sure they are all the same for 'o2 and probably other years. I have an '02 and all the numbers are identical to the ones on the picture you posted. I haven't had to do this so I may be way off, but you should be able to open it up and set DIP switches to coincide with your car. Getting the settings right for your car would be the trick. I'm sure there is an easy way to find out. Someone with expierience in this should post, all I know is they are pretty standard and you just need to program them for your specific car.

one thing i just noticed on that pic of the keyfobs, it doesn't have the instructions for linking the keyfob to the seat memory or the seat memory number.

does anybody know where I could get a brand new remote for under $100

I checked ebay, and all of them are used, and I really dont want a used one

I also called an Acura Dealer, and he said it would cost $157 + $16 tax + labor/programming = ~$200 for just 1 remote, and I think thats a ridiculous price to pay.
