I was wondering, when you guys race someone off the line, and have the car in SS mode, at what RPM's will you shift? I was thinking about all the specs of the car, and researched our torque curves, and our max torque in the TL-S is 3500-5500 RPM, therefore wouldn't it be better to shift as soon as the engine hits 5500 RPM, instead of waiting right before the rev limiter kicks in? Wouldn't we basically be running on momentum from 5500-7000 RPM, which would slow us down?
I haven't had a chance to try it on my TL-S, but I will let you know the results, and whether it improves my 0-60 time at all.
thanks guy...
if anyone else has any info about this....or want to post about how they run in a race, feel free!!!

Drifting
torque is what you use to get off the line and its what pushes the car...when your at higher speeds you want horsepower because you no longer need the power to accelerate....you need the power to make the wheels spin faster (i know..it sounds like accelerate, which it is...but its like torque is twisting force...from a standstill you need alot of it to turn the wheel..since your going agaisnt friction air and the weight of the vehicle...but once your moving...the momentum is carrying the weight..so now you just need power to turn the wheels as fast as possible..which is what hp bascially does...but its not like their seperate thigns..they work together). thtas a bad explanation..hopefuly you can figure it out on your own..cause i cant put it into words..but anyway..our engines make more hp at higher rpms...and if you shift at 5.5k rpm...you miss all that hp...and lets say you shift at the peak of the hp...once you down shift..your out of the peak and you make less hp....if you go past the peak...theres still more hp at 7k as opposed to 3k...and once you downshift from redline...your back or close to the peak agian...thats why you shift at redline...yoiu dont want to shift at 5.5k cause then then you'll drop the rpm to around 3k and you'll bog it down since it no longer has momentum and you'll have to go thrpught the torque/hp thing agian...
