when am I going to learn...

can't believe my stupidity yesterday. Just finished giving her a good cleaning when I noticed the clear lenses on the headlights had some kind of stain on them. Jerk that I am, I got out a soft scouring pad and used the rough backside on them. Now the lenses have scratch marks on them, kinda dull looking. It's not very noticeable in the daytime (but I know its there), but at night when the lights are on you can see it. Damn, anybody have any suggestions to maybe polish them back up...I'm so f..kin' pissed at myself

Get Meguiars PlastX and see if that works.

if the scratches you put on are deep, you might have to progressively sand it before the plastx can do anything

If you have a PC you should wetsand both headlights with 2000 grit paper, then with a yellow (cutting) pad buff them out, followed with mequires Plastx. Headlights come out looking brand new.

Thanx alot, everyone for all the advice and suggestions. Like the idea of sanding it out, but I'm afraid I'll do more damage, before trying the polish. We'll proceed very carefully and slowly this time around. Thanx, again all

If you are planning to sand first, I would wet sand, not dry sand.

I simply used water, but i went 600, 1000, 2000, lense cleaner polisher stuff. and i took like an hour on each lense :P

and put 3M blue painters tape around the lens so u dont scratch the grille, hood, and bumper
