wheel hop = frustration

i had the same problem as you, but my friends brother whos an amazing driver gave me some pointers in his 3.5 altima since i drive an auto... anyways
when dropping the cluth dont gas it all the way.. cause your wheels will be spinning even faster and never have time to catch grip...
instead kinda i guess hit the gas as if you were reving your engine, you kno kinda in and out... i kno this is pretty vague pretty hard to explain
this give the tires some time to catch grip.. it takes some practice but itll deff help

holy jesus..... yeah. new mounts are a must. theres gotta be a way to stop this with other parts. I mean, would it be a good idea to put like 10 engine dampers on lol....
Or what about stiff braces.

Bringing your tires right up to the traction limit is an art form. Dropping the clutch and mashing the gas is not going you to do you any favors in that department. Learn to feel what your car is doing and react to it. When your wheels are just starting to break free you need ease off the gas or work the clutch a little more.
I can't explain how to do it because I honestly haven't thought about it in a long, long time. My legs just do what they need to do without my conscious intervention. It sounds like your taking the bucking bronco approach to driving (wind it up and hold on). You need to learn how to get your car to do what you want it to instead of just hoping it will do it on its own.
You also need to clutch issues worked out. It's flat out impossible to get a good quick launch without precise clutch control.

Bight the bullet and put in the new mounts. If you try to compensate by stiffening up other things but the engine is still bouncing all over the place, you'll just end up breaking things like axles or differential bearings.

lol thats a pretty good analogy though

I think honda should have taken a page from GM and but upper Dog Bone style dampers on. Having all that power being held from the bottom of the motor is asking for alot of movement and twisting.

yeah and if grandma had balls shed be grandpa
shoulda coulda woulda but ts not, so we gotta make the best of it.
would it be possible to fabricate a something to prevent as much stress on the mounts

well at idle the innovative mounts cause vibration too, but sometimes you have to sacrifice to get better performance, like droning from exhaust(even though there isnt much performance increase there) or from headers.

+1 For the Innovative mounts
I got mine in the first batch and didn't have fitment problems. I did have some real bad cabin vibrations, but that was just because I didn't have my two transmission mounts on. Once I put those on, the vibrations subsided and the ride is smooth again. The group buy had them for $300 but I just missed out on them and got them for full price, $330. You can contact Innovative directly and get them from them or you can wait around and see Josh gets another Group Buy together.

its all about what the customer wants and can live w. i grew up a little so decide to stop spendin money on racing my tl and start a project car on the side. time for rims and adding a dvd/navi head unit etc. time to pimp my ride.
#72
I dont race...... ok sometimes, but that doesnt meant that I havent grown up. Some of us arent fortunate enough to have a project car, and even if I did, I would still want to make the TL faster.
Its fun seeing people shocked being killed by a sedan with car seats lol/

But they didnt, and thats why we're doing what we're doing.
I dont know if you were criticizing us for modding our cars, but it felt that way to me.

It must seem silly that they made a Sport model of the TL since its a luxury car, those damn acura people why would they do that to a luxury car.
Im not complaining really, Im trying to figure out a way to eliminate it. but you wouldnt understand cause........ well...... you dont have a manual transmission TL.

Not sure if its worth it....... it would be fun just to see what I put down though. Not really any local shops out here.
Maybe after I fix all these little quirks, me and frank can go dyno our cars.

u cant knock a guy for wanted his car to out perform other cars on the road. your name on the title u can do what ever u want to it. this forum is here for us to explore idea from wheel hop to a lift kit for 24's not recomendin that. point is its a exchange of ideas and opinions so we cant put any tl member down for what ever they want to do
