What's with the odd noise....

When I put my car in reverse! I put the gear into R and as the car is moving, it makes like a light squeal or whistle noice, I can't put my finger on it. When I brake and put it into drive, it goes away.

Also, is there anything I can do about WIND noise??? My car is 2000, and I heard that then 2002s on up had improvements on wind noise and insulation(?)...

it's most likely your rear sensor for the rear brake stating that you need them replaced. My dad's '98 TL at 60 000 km had this noise...it sounds like a high pitched whistle...

take it to your dealer, or just replace rear pads.

If it is a grinding sound is possible that one or both of your rear brake pads are gone.
As far as the wind noise, for the '03 TLS they replaced the side mirrors and shape them a little different so they are more aerodynamic thus reducing noise.

Thanks, I think I do need to replace all the brake pads anyways

So, there is really nothing I can do about the wind noise?

umm if you're talking about the noise from the rear end of the vehicle, that can only be cured by replacing the pads...
however if you're referring to the wind noise on the side of the car...i think that has to do with the side mirrors.

yes, the wind noise on the side of the car
I was told at Acura that the wind comes in through the window seals and by the A-pillars
