whats the lightest tint?

im gonna be tiniting my white TLP soon and i was thinking of going with 25% black on the side and rear window. My question is this, i want to also tint the winshield but i dont want to get my b@lls busted. is there anything lighter than 35% and even if there is, is it worth getting, would that look stupid? or would 35% be light enough to not get hassled? thanks alot in advance, Kyle

I have Formula One 50 on my car and it still pretty dark. I think that you can get 70 but I don't know where

Solargard had a 90 and clear if you're just looking for uv protection. My friend had tint on his windshield and said it slightly distorted the view, and also with polarized glasses it would create a rainbow effect or something. Oh, and I don't know how strict they are in RI, but 35% on the windshield would be pretty noticable.

i got this on the windshield, http://huperoptik.com . as high as 58% light transmittance. it really depends on why you are tinting the windshield. you might get busted if you are doing it for privacy; otherwise, almost all HO film shades reject 99% UV.

That's pretty much right. There has to be at least 70% light, which is basically nothing.
The car will fail inspection, which mine did, unless you can find somewhere who will do it if you 'pay a little extra'.

IMO, if you do the windshield, you're just asking for trouble.

i would love to tint my windshield, but i get pulled over once a week as it is (no joke).lol.
in fact i was pulled over today, for no reason at all, but i've seen the cop come out with the tint meter, but my PBA card got me out of it.

I dont see a point of tinting at all if u r looking for the lightest tint. Stock comes pretinted as I believe to block UV.
in NY, you can tint the rear windows as dark as u want, and the front is either 35% lowest or no tint at all.....But putting on a nice tint, definitely changed the whole look of the car.

i havent gotten a price yet from anyone but i imagine it will be somewhere around 150 - 200 (does that sound right?). and BTW i was planning on getting the winshield tinted just for privacy but im not sure if im even going to bother anymore. i dont want to get pulled over just to get my b@lls busted, besides it will look clean with 25% on the sides and back.

and yes in R.I. it is pretty much illegal for anything (especially in East Prov where moneygrip is at, those cops are d!cks) but my dad inspects cars so thats not a problem

in NY, you can't tint any of the door windows. only the rear defroster window can be tinted in NY.

I got mine done for 250. All windows except the windshield. THey did an excellent job, no complaints. I can't remember the exact name of the place, I believe it was Sunset tint or something like that. They're on cranston st.

And yes, the cops are tough in EP. Luckily I haven't had a problem yet, but mine isn't that dark, so maybe that's why. (I have the 25%, it looks very nice)

You're lucky your dad does the inspections. It cost me 125 for that damn sticker.
