what should I expect to pay, and what's the lightest shade I could get without it being useless?

 

I paid about 120 for my tint and most people i know don't go any lower than 30% all the way around, i went 20% in the back 30 in the front, i wanted a uniform look but 30 was just too light for me.

 

150 for my tint, 35 % mirror, the door mirrors and back mirror! My mom has the Platinum tint which was 170 i think? around there

 

i got it for 150 all four sides and rear in 30 and 15 % smoke my car is wdp

 

you should really ask for members from your state. The price varies state by state.

With the ebony interior of your car you should get 35%. I have a 51% tint on my car only because of D.C. laws. The 51% does a good job to cut out heat & glare 35% would have been better but here that would get more attention from police.With the 51% & DC. tags I get know attention.The 51% does not do a good job as far as privacy so you can still see in alot. With the ebony interior & the heat rejecting green glass already in the TL makes it a little darker. I would get 35% all around if I were you this is a good choice if your state law alows it. Like most said around $170 to $220 range is average.

Go to lycos and type WINDOW TINT LAWS -- you'll find it -- i'd link u up but im on slow ass dial up.

I paid $201 (w/ 8% tax) for Metallic (not miror) tint. 20% front sides, 5% (limo) on rear sides and rear.

I haven't gotten bothered yet (knock on wood) and NY the law for sides front is the factory (like 70%) and 35% for rear sides. Back window can be anything. I think with a TL -- you have a bit more leeway -- cops look and say oh its not some punk -- it's a TL.

ya know? They'd rather ticket some punk in a ricedout sh!tvic than a nice looking TL.

 

I have 35% w/ ebony interior and I think it's a great match. Don't bother looking at my sig pic - it needs to be updated, as it was taken before the tint. I can't tell you about price, because my friend owns the tinting business & did it for free. But I would say close to $200 for a good job.

u guys got it mad easy. i live in westchester and these ppl really squeeze ur nipples till they turn purple. 225 for a coupe! so i imagine its at least 250 for my Tl and just to finish off the tint on the front 2 wdinows of my jeep in 100!!! sum bull****, i mean i cud find a place to get my TL done for like 11 but i aint ab to take my TL down to the Bronx and leave em the keys, ya know?

Maximum legal tint in Gerogia is 35%.

Had mine tinted with 35% Llumar Stealth tint all around.

Paid $238. They tint the side window all the way to the top. Some places that I talked will leave about a half inch at the top untinted. Didn't like that.

 

In the NY area, you can pay anywhere from 90 to 230. 90 being crap and usually 140 and up is using the best stuff, like llumar brand tint, mettalic tint, windshield tint, warrenties and other things.

 

www.iwfa.com is another good source...75% or light is the lightest shade. you could go with the clear stuff for other properties beside privacy.

 

I paid $270 for 35% metallic tint. And i have NO complaints at all.

 

Most places around me charge $20 a window but other places that have specialists charge a standard $200. I got 35% all around.
