I like the SC and the simplicity of it. I also like the sound of the Roots style SC's

In terms of pros and cons.....
A SC is driven by the engine, it takes some power away to make more power in the end. The benefit would be that you get boost instantly.
A TC is driven by exhaust back pressure. It doesn't take any of the existing engine power to run it however, you have to deal with "turbo lag". Turbo lag is the time it takes before you have enough pressure from the exhaust to spin the turbo effeciently and get the boost to the engine.
I like a turbo myself. I like the surge of power they produce when the turbo gets spooled up. The biggest problem you will run into with a turbo is that there isn't one available for our cars and you would have to do a custom job.

Normal driving, I have a friend who actually gained economy with a SC. Turbos are a bit funky to drive normal due to turbo surge. You have to start with moderate throttle, then back off when it is hitting.

I only have the HBP, Mugen cooling mods, lightweight drive pulley and a CSF #3011 aluminium radiator (which is slightly larger than stock). Even in the horrible S. Florida heat during stop-and-go traffic the car gets resonable city mileage, though I have to admit I don't track that.
With the investment, boost can be your friend with level headed driving.

For me, this is the delta. I had an 07 RDX as a loaner when I had my tranny replaced (or SRS repaired) and I couldn't stay out of the turbo - zipping around traffic and such. I loved the additional power so much - granted it was a novelty / toy that I had for a short period of time and I got terrible mileage, although this was compared to the TL and not another RDX as I had no other baseline for comparison. Admittedly, this was not a fair comparison though.

Which one is better? That depends on what yuo're looking for.
Roots Style S/C- I had one of these on my 03 Cobra. These make full boost right off of red line. As soon as you matt the gas pedal you get full boost. I personally loved this fact. They also have a really cool whine from the blower. These respond great to simple mods. The easiest one is changing the blower pulley. Using a smaller pulley from the Lightning gives you an additional 3psi of boost.
Centrifugal S/C (vortech, paxton, prochager)- I had one of these on my 98 Mustang GT. These take time to build boost. Not much, but the amount of boost being made depends on the engine rpm's. The more rpm's you spin the more boost you will make until you reach the blower's limit or max out rpms. These are more difficult to mod, but once done they respond well. To mod these you usually have to make echanges inside the blower housing itself.
Turbo- I don't know crap about these. I've never had one or even been in a car with one. Hear them a million times at the racetrack. They sound bad ass.
All three definitely kill your gas mileage, because you won't be able to stay off the go fast pedal.

if I had a SC my gas mileage would go down big time because I would not drive like a granny. I'd be pushing the pedal down hard multiple times every time I took my car for a drive. Alas, I still want one.

i hope we can get specs.. im pretty bummed that all the azine members who get turbos dnt want to help anybody else with building one. if they would just give the piping lengths/diameters. theyw could save others 1000$ of dollars..
/rant
im just sad because i went to an underground race meet last night and i was the only one without a turbo

Supercharger is pretty much plug and play but you are capped on horsepower compared to turbo. Regardless with each of these I wouldnt put it on an auto tranny, thats why I sold mine cause I wanted more power, rwd, and no tranny issues.
