What's the best scratch remover?

I found out my friend's cat had been climbing up my car and causing these little scratches on my car. None of the scratches are deep and looks like a good scratch remover will get rid of most of it. Can you guys tell me what are the best scratch removers? I'm real skeptic about scratch removers because I've heard a lot of scratch removers remove more than just scratches, like your paint. Please give me your input.

about in numerous times on this board and also
on the lexus board....

Is Perfect It for minor or heavier scratches. I might have to pick some up.

I've alway used 3M Finessett. It's for minor scratches. Works great.

I assume you mean Hand-applied?

Orbital buffers do a far better job, and the polishing compounds designed for orbital use also are superior.

If you are serious about getting this corrected, go to a skilled professional.

I use a Porter Cable random orbital with Griot's polishing compunds that are designed to work in the low heat. Even with this, there have been scratches that I had to go to a pro for.

I used this crappy scrach remover from Turtle wax which only costed me 2.96+tax but guess what happen, not only it couldn't remove the scrach but creat many many more fine swirl marks and I think it also took out the clear coat becauase no matter what I did (waxed and polished) the area now looks very dull. What should I do now?

Question

How does that work? If the scratch is into the paint, do I need to apply a layer of touch-up paint?

These products are meant for very fine scratches. Types that usually are restricted to the clearcoat and don't penetrate the underlying paint or metal. Basically it's like liquid sandpaper. Veny miniscule abrasive granuals are suspended in a liquid. When you apply the stuff and rub/buff, you are basically buffing out the scratch by taking off a very fine layer of clearcoat. That's why you have to be careful with them. Too much or buffing too aggressively can cause worse scratches, like acropora experienced. Unless it is very minor and you know what you're doing, such things are best left to professional detailers.

Question

For fixing chips, there is supposed to be a "langa" product. What does that exactly do? does it work?

honestly.i do not believe there is any good scratch remover in the markets.if u want the scratch remove completly,a new paint job is a good idea or even a touch up paint is better than scratch remover..
