OK, here's my deal. I really want a navi. I want to get the factory navi in particular. I love the 2nd gen style, and I am still kinda trying to get used to the 3rd gen (I LOVE the car and everything it has to offer, just still not to hype on the looks) I currently have a Taffeta White 2000 TL-P. Do you guys think I should go with a 2nd gen like, 02 type S or something? Or should I save a few more months and get an 04? I don't mind the automatic of either because I have another car that is stick for my fun factor. I have 84k on my car now...you think it'd be possible to find a good deal somewhere for a type S with navi?

 

Well, it's really your call on that. You said that you really like the later 2nd gen style, but it's not as new as the 3rd gen. And the 3rd gen has a bunch of cool features, but the looks aren't so hot. You'll get a much better deal on a 2nd gen type S with nav versus a new 3rd gen with nav. Demand for the 2nd gen has gone down since the 3rd's been out, so you can definitely use that to your advantage. Also, you could get a used 02-03 tls and save even more (especially if it’s certified, which I think all used Acura’s that come from an Acura dealership are). But again, it's really up to you and what you like.

 

Yeah...are there any advantages or disadvantages to either navi? I know the 04 has a bigger screen, but does anyone know firsthand? I'm assuming you can get the adapters to make either one of them TV's..b/c that's a definite.

 

depends on your budget. Your looking atleast $10,000 more for a 3gen compared to 2002 or even 2003 Type S.

 

10k more...that's like another 2 months of saving...dammit...well...I think I've made up my mind. I'm going to try and find a 02 or 03 Type S with navi, preferably with an OEM kit already. How much are they running now with fair miles? Like 50k or less? Anybody on this board know anyone selling what I'm looking for? I really want black leather, but no silver...Silver cars are cool, but just about all the TL's I see in my area are all silver. What other colors come with black leather?
