What is worng with my Trann??
OK. i was goin to work this morning, and going on a two lane road, and i'm on the right lane doing like 35-40 coz havnig grannmon in front of me. And i'm in hurry so i put it in SS and downshift to 2nd and WOT. after passing to slow car so i upshift to 3rd. But my Tranny won't upshift. so i push it again, and NOPE. push it again and again ..still won't upshift to 3rd. OK..so i put it back to D5..STILL won't upshift even i let off the gas. ok..then i pull it down to D4 and back to D5..no. won't shift..pull it down to D3 and back to D5 still no no..ok.. then i was like what the heck..
put it in N and back to D5(with out giving gas and i know it is a no no.and really bad to Tranny) still in 2nd gear. So i have to pull off to the side and turn-off the car and start it again. Starting shift 1-2. and won't upshift to 3 or 4 and 5. by the time i was already almost to my work place like 2 or min..so i was going 40 mph and 3-4500 rpm. Then lunch time..i went out to start it again and give it one more try..and finally it upshift to 3. OK..my question is anyone here have this problem B4? and is it goin to happen again. and i'm too scare to use my SS on my way home.
Mine TL is 2000 with 32000 on the clock. with some mod.

The same type of issue would happen to my 1st tranny (wouldn't shift into 3rd). I got it replaced and the second trans went bad in two days... I think you should go to the dealer and get it done before it becomed dangerous (my 2nd trans did a 75mph downshift into 2nd on a MAJOR highway!!!).
This is very typical of the "known" trans issue(s).
Good luck...

Man I feel for you....I thought that alot of the tranny failures were a result of hard driving, but I drive like a grandma and my tranny still went at 19K miles (yesterday), I have an 02 TL-p.
I spoke with the service tech at Palm Beach Acura and he told me that he hasn't heard that Honda/Acura has made the 7yr/100K mile tranny warranty official yet. He knows it's all over the internet and USA Today, but no official word from Honda Motor as of yet.
I drive 30-35K per year so that waranty will only be good to me another 2 and a half years or so....and I bought the Acura because I wanted a car that could go 200K plus miles without any problems. My last car was a 95 Nissan Altima with 165K, and I only changed the tranny fluid once at 70k, and up until the day I sold it, the tranny never slip or stuck in gear. I wanted the I30 for reliability but the TL was so nice, and Honda had a better reputation for quality than Nissan.
Honda/Acura has really pissed me off, the first one I've owned and the tranny sucks.
Does anyone know if the core of the tranny problem is addressed when they change trannies? I looked at past posts, (a hell of a lot of them) but never found an answer. It seems that it's not unusual for the tranny to blow a second, or even a third time.
Maybe I'll get the G35.....Dammit again!
