It's not a fair race because you have an automatic transmission and they have a manual transmission. Manuals are about 1 sec faster for 0-60 mph times.

2002 Acura TL specs:

260 Horsepower and 232 ft/lbs torque
Auto
Front wheel drive

2004 G35 Coupe or Sedan? specs:

Sedan 260 HP and 260 ft/lbs torque
Coupe 280 HP and 287 ft/lbs torque
Rear wheel drive

Check out Comptech at www.comptechusa.com for more info on the Supercharger kit. It will cost you a lot of money for that mod though. Check out www.turbocorolla.com for some ideas. They got some wicked tuned Toyotas that kick serious ass.

For you to beat a G35, you'll need a turbo or a supercharger, cold air intake box, NOS would not hurt, different camshaft, lightweight flywheel, a manual transmission, etc. Problem with FWD is that if you put too much horsepower in the front wheels, it will create too much torque steer which will be detrimental to your steering and handlling. However, FWD handle better for a daily driver, in rain and snow conditions though. Good luck though. Like to see you whoop the G35's ass.

it really depends on the launch

bone stock you will be able to keep it up until 110mph then he will walk away

however if you have the combo of Intake, Exhaust and Header will give you a gd run with the G35 MT, but can't pull ahead of him, nor he can pull away from you

to beat it you will need supercharger

every bolt on you can get for our car may yield a faster time

ie.
headers, intake, catback, pulleys, vafc2 (even though it just smoothes out the powerband more), port and polish

that should put you about 14.0

HONDA/Acura are long overdue for a rear-wheel drive car.

You can beat a G35!! At the stop light follow these steps:

1. Roll down your window
2. Make sure you have your pellet or BB gun loaded and ready to shoot.
3. When the light goes Green , pull out the BB gun and pop his window out and hit the gas.

- The question now is: What will it take for the G35 to catch YO ASS!!!???!!!

(For the young'ins, please don't try this in your Parents TL's )

To beat a G35c you need a supercharger, headers, pullies, and exhaust, and lighter wheels with better tires... You'll kick his ass... Just do it on the hwy... From a stop with all that power at the front your gonna be spinin......

You can EASILY make it a drivers race with just i/h/e and getting a good launch and shifting in SS perfectly.

I've beaten my friends 04 G35 sedan auto. We're dead even till about 70, but the TL-S has a bit of a stronger 3rd gear than the auto G35 and I edge it out.

Never ran a manual coupe though........

It took a supercharger for me to beat one, thirteen lights straight and he never had a chance. But it really wasn't worth the $300+ ticket I got going 103 in a 35mph posted zone.

Pullies, exhaust, and lighter tires not needed for my run. Just some common sense to take it to the track

If you push it yes, you'll be spinning but you just have to ease on the gas so you won't spin. You'll catch him before he pulls 2nd gear on you then it's over.

other than that, once a corner is right up ahead, ohshoot, that g35 is already gone. and we're still gonna be holding down the break before that turn

sorry bro ya can't beat it, its not only 6speed mt its also 280 or 290hps depending if its a coupe or not...infiniti cars are made solid and its has incredible power, don't waste your time trying, doing the massive upgrades will only help alittle but yet if they also have some upgrades you won't stand a chance....just race bmw 3series or lexus or whatever else....the type s can take of them, anytime,,... i have a tlp and I took down a 330ic and that felt pretty good...

The thing about the TL is that it seems to be a much heavier car. Where I work, we service Infinitis and Acuras as well. I drove an 04 TL, awesome by the way, and that bastard will spin you sideways if you hit it hard enough. The G35 sedan though, is alot smaller and seems lighter. It's got 260hp, but slam it WOT and it will almost put you into a ditch. I can't speak for the 6MT G35's--I know they're fast as hell. I'm waiting until we get another one in to drive one of those. Put it this way though....after driving both cars, the TL is still better hands down. The interior is better put together than the G35 and has better quality. The G35 just looks cheapy on the inside for the amount of money they want for them. I like my TL and I will own another TL or RL. The G35 may be fast, but that's about it. Remember, Acuras hold a slight edge on resale compared to Infiniti.

Take that girl in your avatar and sit her in your passenger seat. You win, hands down with or without the actual race.

I am inclined to think that a 6mt TLS otherwise stock would pull a TLS with the mentioned mods: First, there is more ponies to the ground as is with a manual, and the gearing favors the manual. It may be close, but I think a sure win for the 6mt

since most people with that tranny setup don't do it as their first mod, who knows. BUT, there are plenty of stock CLS 6MT's out there. I am gonna find me one
