Unhappy What should i do???

Im looking in autotrader.com today searching for a TL and i see a 99 red(which i kinda like) w/ nav for $18700. It didnt say how many miles or what the interior color is. (Imma call them tomorrow and find out and hopefully its black.) Im pretty sure you guys know the feeling of how bad you wanted to get your TL. For sure im getting my TL in June or July but this TL is available now. I know the 99 is not 5 speed and the navi isnt dvd based but its available now. What should i do fellows and help me out here? I appreciate it.

If you can live WITHOUT the 5 speed and the DVD based navi then get the 99. I have a 99TL with 48K miles on it with no mechanical problems. Either one you can't go wrong. Enjoy your future TL.

18K is a good price, but make sure you have it checked out.

I'm guessing that there are a lot of miles on it since that's really below book price. I think the book for a 99 Nav w/ 30K miles is around $22,500. That was price the Dealer told my friend to look for if he was selling his privately.

Call me crazy, but check Carmax's website for some prices. I fortunately looked there and they had screwed up the price on the Internet by $2000 I go in with the printout and they said they would hook it up. Needless to say, Polyman purchased a TL from Carmax. Make sure you have that car looked at by an independent if you decide to get it.

Dont believe it. The car has a salvage title . Anything that sounds to good to be true probably is. I bought my 00 tl off autotrader. I paid 22,000 with 18,000 miles. Believe me the car you are looking at wil have a salvage title.

Think about it why would someone sell a 24 to 25,000 car unless it has a salvage title. or has over 50,000 miles. Dont even waste your time. I watched autotrader for 4 months and finally found mine. Look all over before you buy

Acnup00TL might be right. Get it checked out. Or just wait for the 2002.

I noticed being in Blackshadow's TL a few times that the CD is alot slower then the DVD and when the route is being re-calculated on the navi you can't see it being done. I really hate that about the 99. But still if you could live with it. Go for it! In the 00+ you can still see the map when it recalculates.

I thought 18K was kinda low for a '99 TL; bet it has a lot of miles or maybe some structural/cosmetic issues....hopefully not the case for you; but if it is clean, 18K is a great price...go for it

Ask them if it is mostly driven on highway. Highway driving is actually good for the car; therefore cars with highway miles would be better than city driving. As long as the exterior condition, such as paint chips and dents, is good, highway driving veihcles is your better bet.

I hope this helps

by the way... 99, 00, or 01 are all good choices. I have a 00 with no mechanical problems at all, just a loose driver seat which was fixed within 1/2 hour at the dealer.

good luck

But my CD navi has a lot more detailed point of interest. It might not covered the whole US but if you are looking for a particular place, mine will have it. But you can't go wrong with either one.
