What kind of loaner do they give you when car is getting tranny replaced?

Does anyone know if the dealer gives you a rental car from a rental company or do they give you an acura from the dealership as a loaner car when you take it to the dealer to get a tranny replaced that is covered under warranty still? I had called the dealer and they said that they are contracted with hertz so does that mean that they are going to give me some other car other than an acura?

Why don't you just call Hertz and find out what they have available?!

Loan Car

Dang TommiGSR, you got lucky getting a TSX as a loaner. When my tranny failed at 87K, stupid Acura dealer gave me a freaking Chevy Cavalier (from Hertz by the way). The car sucked big time and I was pissed about it. Oh well, at least I'm running with my 2nd tranny nice and smooth right now.

It really depends on your dealership. There's no blanket statement that will prove to be the right answer here for you. Not only does it depend on the dealership, but it also depends on if they have Acura loaners available at the time.

If you want to know for sure, why didn't you ask the dealer while you were on the phone with them ... "Will I get an Acura loaner if I bring my car in due to the tranny being blown?"

If they say no and your requirement is to have another Acura, then call another dealership in your area.

I got a TSX, only 400 miles. Its a okay car...underpowered though...would have been more fun if they had given me a 6-speed. Liqice, i think you are right, it is a dealer-to dealer difference whether they have rentals or not...

Around here, the policy is for rentals rather than loaners for tranny replacements. I lucked out, and ended up with a GMC Envoy.

And we wonder why Acura dealers charge so much. Also somebody will end up buying that car and probably complain about it (and Acura) on this site.
