What does the AEM Cold Air Intake do??
sucks more air....don't like AEM intakes neither K&N filters. CAI means sucks cold air.
My two favorite filters: Apexi and HKS. I like the filter element of the apexi and the design of the HKS. The apexi lets almost nothing throught except air, but keeping good gains. The HKS is the most powerfull while keeping most of the dirt out.
Pipes, you could make your custom pipe with plastic or silicone or buy a metal one.
Best intake system: Weapon R intake and comptech looks like that, but is not out for the TL yet. This intake is basically short ram, with a box aournd them so they could suck cold air just like a CAI.
Another thing is using the stock airbox and adding a highflow filter like comptech or K&N and removing the stock resornator.
You could also do what I just did which get me a little deeper louder noise and a couple of more HP.
On 99 TL's which have a different airbox than other model years. you take the stock pipe and the top of the stock airbox add the high flow filter then attached with screws or somthing similar so it does not come of, since the filter will be facing down. Then make a custom airbox made out of two panels of plastic or whatever to keep the hot air from the intake and suck cold air. Is the most powerfull Intake I have yet tested on my TL.
Hope this helps and make sure you buy any of this stuff from our aftermarket god Tim at www.autocarparts.com
