Hi JeffyTL, thanks for the compliments.
Honestly, I don't think they have a name for it... the store I went to, they just have a bunch of vinyl-stickers there, like up to 20 different kinds of colors... and as I mentioned before, there are like around 6 or 7 kinds of silver...
The store is actually quite far from my place... so I don't go there very often. I might have a chance to visit there in the nearly future, if I go, I'll ask them the product number so that you can order online, how's that?

Which part are you refering to?? If it's the window switch, you'll have to make a little hole in the middle.. then try to stretch the vinyl so it attaches the surface.. then you cut the square shape afterwards...

I think about how to take the pieces off, there are very good information in the FAQ section. I did the exactly the same thing as what it says.. I just wish I've read it first so that I didn't spent almost an hour thinking how to take the door trim off without melting the plastic screws...
Good luck!!

Tim was taking the pictures. I'm glad the instructions help you.My friend got the same material (silver and carbon fiber) you could get it on e-bay.

I figured out what Chien used. The vinyl material used in this mod is the same type of vinyl used in making banners and industrial signs. You should be able to pick it up at any sign shop or speciality graphic arts store. I am going out tomorrow to try and find some. If you can't find a sign supply store you could always try a banner or sign shop and ask them to sell you some scrap.

I did this to my car about a year ago. I love the look. It is hard to keep clean. I have the silver sticker also. I had a major problem, it all bubbled up on realy hot day. Im removing it now and looking for some kind of paint to do this.

And how come there's bubbles?? My friend even use this on his M5 for some exterior look and it is just fine....
The day Chein posted the instructions I did it. I have had my car apart for about 2 months just for this damn mod. I used sticker and it messed up cuz i took it to a tint guy, he did the side peices alright, but as for the ones for the bend he said screw it. So I sanded the all down and spray painted them with silver mettalic spray paint. I al glad i spray painted it. It came out Awsome. I have the ashtray peices done so far. All done very soon.

But as I said before, the best benefit of this vinyl is it will not damage your original wood-trim, so when u r planning to sell ur car, u can just peel it off and whoever that's gonna buy ur car will not notice u've done this mod before...
anyways, looking forward to see ur pix!!
Chein your right on that. Once its sanded down it will never become wood again unless you buy a whole new door panel. But it looks really sharp. And I am not gonna worry about bubling up and all. ill post pix soon
The silver vinel becomes dirty very fast. you need to keep clean or it will stain the vinal. the place where it bubbled up from the heat where places where there was a hard corner to cover. the first place i noticed it was on the window controler plate, the the little bump on each side of the controlers bubbled up
