Curious to what was the deciding factor on the colors you all chose.
For me it was blue or red, my 98 accord was Dark emerald green, so i did'nt won't that color again. I did'nt like silver, because everyone has it. Gold is too bland. Black and white is just to difficult to keep clean, did'nt know about white diamond pearl until after i had mine, but it falls into the same catagory. I guess blue would have been difficult to clean as well but i like that particular blue. I finally choose the red because it stood out more then blue and my brother and girlfriend liked it as well.

GOOD QUESTION. Here in Gulf Breeze,FL the sun is hot most of the year. We wanted a light colored car. The silver required ebony seats. They will all but melt in this climate. It's a shame that Acura doesn't offer a light interior with its color options. We would have bought something like a Heather Mist if it had a parchment interior. Unfortunately, it wasn't offered at all.
I live in the heat as well and wanted a deep rich looking color. We had a Teal Accord EX with a light tan interior and it was tough keeping it clean. Laguna offered all we wanted and was still a lighter color for the Florida sun with a darker interior for the young uns....

I got Nighthawk Black Pearl because I really loved the contrast between the dark paint and the parchment leather/wood. Plus, I had never owned a black car and thought it would be classy. I have heard that it is hard to keep clean, but I always wash my car weekly, so it doesn't matter as much. I do, however, agree with wayneandjudy that Acura should offer better interior choices with their colors.

I forgot all about Laguna green. That is another color i did'nt know about until after i bought my car. I've seen a few but never up close and personal. I may have bought it, if i saw it back then.
I got a Heather-Mist...because honestly...It was either silver, black or Heather-Mist...I am very happy with it..It is very original..I rarely see any Heather-Mist out there...And also it looks silver at night..I would have gotten the White Pearl but I couldn't wait 7 months...I bought my TL in Dec 98...
silver... (aka the dust color)
cuz I knew I was going to be too busy to wash my car every weekend like how I did on my black prelude.

I didn't like the Heather Mist (sorry Mark)
and I have seen so many Silver and Black cars.
White would've gotten too dirty in these winters, and the Laguna was just weird.
The Monterey blue wasn't the shade I liked which left me with DEP which was a 5 month wait. Funny thing is I never saw a Firepepper in person at all, but when I saw the brochure I knew I found the color. Not too dark, and not too tomato. Just right.
Plus I loved the way the chrome and the yellow signal lights (which I just got rid of, ironically) looked with the color. I love it even more now that it seems to be such a rare color.

I've owned a green, black, red cars, but never a metallic silver that shines so bright and looks so clean, so i went with it. I do not regret getting the color, even though so many other TLs are silver. That gives me an excuse to mod it to be different.

I chose silver... I wanted black interior or I would've chosen black exterior. So there was no black/black option, silver was second best.

You couldnt get black/black? Anyway, I got Black b/c i love the blue sparkle in the paint!

I also wanted Firepepper red, but dealer said there was a 6 week wait so that ended that discussion.
I really really really wanted Tafeta white with ebony interior but couldnt get that combo.

I have the Black/Ebony/Navi combo.
When I put in my order for a 2000 they had not shipped the 1st shipments of them back in 99. I ordered a Firepepper Red/Ebony/Navi they told me it was hard to get one of them.
The dealership stoped selling Acura & only sold Benz & Rolls Royce. My sales person went to another Acura dealership with my paperwork. The color combo that I wanted was still hard to get. If I wanted the parchment interior they had it or if I wanted a non -nav car they had it. I waited 3months then I changed my mine & ordered the Black/Ebony/Navi I had the car in less than 3weeks.The 3 other Hondas that I owned were a Burgundy color so thats why I wanted Fireppeper Red.I aslo wanted darker seats because my 90 Acccord had light seats & I found them hard to keep clean.I always said I might purchase a black car someday.

Well... I have a '00 Laguna... and here is the story behind the color decision...
At first I liked the Gold as did my wife, but when we saw it in person it appeared too bland and not rich as we were expecting... off the list...
Then I wanted to get the Laguna but the wife didn't like the color, couldn't show it to her on the road since the color is rare... when we actually went to the dealer he had the Laguna and the WDP...
My wife fell in love with the WDP instantly but also liked the Laguna a lot, plus I wanted the Laguna for the never-need-to-wash color and inside grey leather...
So now the choices were Laguna or WDP... this dealer had the only one Laguna and only one WDP, none of the other dealers, I think I called 4 or 5, didn't have these colors nor had them coming in...
As we were still deciding the WDP was sold and the Laguna was also sold but he had one coming in 3 days, we signed for Laguna and next day he called that the car he had on the lot was canceled and we can have it...
------------------
Out on parole and on best behavior...

Once my wife & I decided on the TL, color was the only thing there was to talk about!
However, our goal was to get the best price possible from available inventory of a Boston-area dealer, so we were going to be choosing from the stock of the lowest-priced dealer.
Our choices were green, red, and black.
Once I got a close look at the red, I knocked that out because it's almost exactly the same color as the detested Contour SE we were selling. Too many bad memories...
The green didn't thrill me, since it's so ubiquitous. But I did like the tan interior. My wife, however, hated the two-toned tan.
And she loved the idea of a black car. Now, since I had pretty much made all the decisions up to this point (When I say "we" decided on the TL, it means she drove it and loved it, after I researched and drove a dozen different cars...) I felt the smart thing to do was defer to her on the color.
I'm still ambivalent about the black. I really like color on a car - My top choice was the Laguna Green. But my wife loves the color, and we both love the car...

I had to choose black because when I bought the car there was only one 00 model there and it was black. But I would of chose black anyway even if I had to choice to pick. I think black looks the best because all of the trim on the car is black and a car that is all one color looks sweet. The same goes for the int., its all one color (basically) when it is black.

I've owned every single color cars but black. I've always wanted a black car. I've had, brown with my Tercel, Red in my Hyundai, Gold in my Prelude, Silver/Brown in my Legend, Silver in my Benz, and finally BLACK!
I have Tafetta White with Fern interior. I really wanted white with a black interior but they only came in Black, Silver, or Red. I lived with 2 black cars already and I didn't care for the red metallic. Thought about the Silver but the metallic flakes are too big. The BMW's have a silver with very fine flakes which make the paint look richer. Since I wanted white anyway I settled for the fern interior which looks kinda gray. White is the easiest to care for. Black is of course the nicest color but it has to be sparkling clean or forget it!
Black and Parchment was the only choice for us, we waited for the dealer to get us one. Black with the silver door handles and the white tail lights (2002) Looks very classy..
But hey its a TL, they are all good..

After comming to this board and researching the TL, I was debating on Black or WDP. I then saw VDo and StreetEffectz WDP and that was the deciding factor. Also, there were way too many Silver car on the road. Also, back when the Audi A4 first came out with the Perl white color I really loved it and this was somewhat similar.
Also, after sitting in the Parchment interior, I thought it was leaning more towards "Luxury" and the black towards "sporty"
So, that was my story, and I don't regret my decision since there are vERY few WDP TLs in my area.

Hehe, i got black on Black they made 'em in 99, and its sweet!. But in all honesty, the best colors go down like this to me:
#1 AEGEAN BLUE whatever. its the closest thing to my dream of getting a Blue M5. I LOVE THIS COLOR.
#2 Black/Silver. I think both of these cars are fine colors, i love my black, when clean it looks sharpest, but thats the catch, WHEN clean. Silver is easier to maintain. But I do like silver a lot because it is nice metallic. So they are tied in my book. Also, if i had silver i would do what Chinaman did, it looks good, get that Chrome tint. I can't do it on black tho!I didn't get silver though because my moms MB is silver.
#3 nothing else is as good as the above 3 to me.
My most hated one is that greyish Moon color.
Then White Diamond Pearl, Red, or green.
that Gold color is nice tho

grushulia, I have a 99. Don't know about the later years but mine came with Fern and it does look gray. IMO, tan interior looks really nice when it's new but I think a gray or black interior ages better.

White cars look like refrigerators on wheels.
I went with the silver because my Legend Coupe was dark green, my Infinity J30 was black, my integra was black and my 280ZX was black.
Black looks good right after you wash it, or on a cloudy day, or at night. Otherwise, black is a total pain in the ass. Not to mention the swirls in the paint that you see in direct sunlight after the car has been washed and dried a few times.
Silver looks great all the time and doesn't get as hot inside. Even when it gets dirty, my car just looks a little flat, but still totally classy.

I chose dark metallic blue (what's the Acura name for this color?) because it was the only one they had! (bought it used)
I wanted a dark colored car anyway, so it worked out well. I think it looks phat with the contrasting two-tone tan leather interior.

We looked at several colors. Never liked Black, White, (wife's Altima is WDP)& never saw fire pepper red in person. I was looking at a Monteray Blue metalic, but didn't like the "parchment" color interior, but still liked the car anyway. Drove down 2 dealer one evening to show her the MBM, & we see the Laguna Green metalic & she says it fits a "classic" looking car like the TL. I love it more & more, no matter what Adam says

I chose Black because, IMO, there was no other color to choose from!!
A black car looks sooooooo good when it's clean (although I basically have to wash it every week)!

When I bought mine, I only have 2 choices. Silver with Ebony interior or Black with Parchment interior. Wife never like the ebony interior. So, I picked the Black.
Although is true that needs to clean the car every week.
