Question What color are the bulbs in the new TL tails (orange or white)???

I've heard that the bulbs look white from the outside, but they blink orange. What's the real deal????

I read in the forum that the bulbs are orange, someone complained about how ugly it looked when you could see through the clear lense and spot the orange bulb.

Can't say I agree with this. I have clear bumper lenses with orange bulbs and the only time you can actually see the orange from the bulb is when the light hits them just right. 99% of the time, all you see is the clear lens....

the upper tail light is clear, but it has a orange bulb. It will only be orange when u turn on ur blinkers. It's orange instead of white is becuase in certain states, the turning lights MUST be orange to meet DOT (department of transportation) requirments.

Red face

That's absolutely right.

You can have clear LENSES, but clear signal lamps WILL NOT pass inspection.
And I believe this is true for all states.

im the one that says that the orange bulb looks NASTY inside the clear tail. it's like a dirty spot where it should be pristine. I've tried with the orange bulb and it looks dirty. you can see the orange. In the tls, which i just saw a new one with a full body kit and a damn 17 yr old kid driving it, the bulb is orange. I jury rigged a bulb to look white, but blink orange. ONLY WAY ACCEPTABLE if u ask me.

DOT are Federal standards - and orange is required.

IU would be cautious about monkeying with lights - you might be liable for damages if any mods are deemed the proximate or contributory cause of a mishap.

The bulb is orange but it is behind a light diffuser that is designed to hide the bulb. The only time the turn signal goes amber is when it is being used.Jens

Exclamation

Before you guys wanna change out the rear signal bulbs if you insist, here's the gimmic: the 1156 bulbs, the plug of the bubls have two little metal extension to let you push in and twist to secure the bulb in the plug. These two "dots" should be opposite to each other, in another word, thet should be form a straight line. But Acura ppl is trying to prevent ppl like us to chang eout the rear bulbs so they made the "dots" at the base oif the bulb at an angle, not in a straight line. I've took it out, and wasn't able to change them... so.... just to let you guys know.
