What cars can I beat?
Ok, so i know a TL is pretty fast for a 4 door car. So i just want to know what cars can a 2000 TL-P beat that's on the market now. I'm talking about cars like the Rsx, wrx, rs, etc.
and what cars should i avoid racing? i been so tempted to race a porche that thinks he's the Sh!t....but i know for a fact that i can't stand a chance....

ok well you might be able to beat boxter but not boxter s... if you want real good races, go for GSRs, Supras (non turbo) older eclipse gs-t with aftermarket turbos, Civic Si, 330s, 530s, etc...

consider yourself lucky to be driving a TL at 17. me? I had an old buick century. and it was my parent's car. while it wasn't bad, it wasn't anything NEAR as nice as a TL. bide your time, finish school, and you'll soon be making phat flow and then you can hook up anything you want.

What BlackShadow say was true. But remember all cars are not stock. For example, a fully modded civic can make you look like you drive a minivan.
On the other hand stock vs. stock, we can beat a lot of cars. But in reality it depends on the driver vs. driver
For example, is300 is a good rival. I raced one and we don't pull on each other, the race was decided on the launch.

I must agree on beating the lexus gs 300. Wasn racing just trying to get home. At first running about 75 cruising along in my rearview I see this gs 300 pull in behind so I decided to try ss out dont have but 2100 miles. So I slow down slightly drop into 3rd and gun it (didnt floor it, havent yet) quickly pull away and slow down to a steady roll of about 80. This was on a four lane road by the way. Lexus follows suit. We come to a 4 way stop. Both side by side. I pull off it follows suit but to no avail no contest. I know the person so later in the week they stop and ask what in the world is in that car. We might not have the fastest car but its definitely one of the tops in the class albeit with the best gas mileage I think for all that power.

guys, I thought the prosche boxter was a pretty fast car! I was just wondering, whats the 1/4mile time for a 2003 TL-P? I have seen 0 to 60's as low as 6.9sec to 7.1sec!! I know we can gun down an automatic v6 altima just from our 0 to 60 time (6.9secs)

the stock boxter is kinda slugish...it's nice around the twisties...but it has many things to be desired of when going for quickness. The boxter S is a very different story.

boxter S has 250 HP with 225 Trq under the hood and weighs less than 2900 lbs.... it's suppose to run under 6 sec for 0-60 and low 14s for 1/4... i highly doubt any TL-P will even come close to this no matter how much mods you got

From porsche website:
The 2.7-litre Boxster engine develops 162 kW (220 bhp) of power at 6,400 rpm, with maximum torque of 260 Nm available from as low as 4,750 rpm. As well as being extremely flexible to drive, the flat-six Boxster unit offers an eager throttle response and optimised cylinder charging, as well as ultra-smooth running characteristics. Driven through a five-speed manual gearbox, the Boxster takes just 6.6 seconds to reach 100 km/h, levelling out at a top speed of 250 km/h. In short: more than enough power for all road situations.
I had a good race with a boxter on the highway the other day. He was a good driver, but no match for me. Anyways both my 4 speed TL and his boxter seem to have the same power as we race for a couple of miles. Of course most of the time he was behind. My car did seem to pull a little more, since I have an intake. It was a fun race!!! a very cool older guy.

the specs you just gave are for regular boxters... Boxter S even comes with a bigger displacement at 3.2... i say it once again... if TL-P (stock, suped up whatever) goes against Boxter S, it will lose... same for TL type-s... eventhough a fixed up type-s might beat it...

on the road i'd always get alot of civics trying to race me and i still burn them i do have I/e but i also always have a full load like 3 to 4 people in my car. i got a couple of 330's but the strangest was a camry solora. i beat them all, but i was wondering can we really beat a a4 that thing has turbo, i know we have a bigger engine but can we actually be faster than all of those cars?

i'm sorry if this has already been beat to death but, could you guys confirm 0 to 60, and 1/4mile times for the 2003 acura TL? I've seen 6.9 to 60! this would make it whoop an auto v6 altima !!!
#34
not sure.... i've seen a lot of different times for TL-P... fastest i've seen so far is 6.7 by motortrend... you kno that section in the back with all the cars and their times? slowest i've seen is like 7.3 or something on some other magazine which i forgot which... but you can't really race by magazine times... just gotta do it in real life...
side note.. it's called "break torque" not "torque break"

oops i misspelled brake torque
brake torque is used to better the off the launch acceleration on a auto tranny car.... it is done by holding down the brake and giving the car throttle to increase RPM and then letting go of the brakes... kinda like dropping from neutral but not as damaging to the tranny... use it when you drag... i sure do
