What to buy?

I really like the 3.2 TL and I need to make a decision about getting a new one or used. Pay more for a new 2003 or more value with a 2002 or 2001? Any significant changes for 2004 to wait for? I don't need the high performance of the TL Type-S. Any thoughts...

You can wait for the '04 TLS. Heard it will be redesigned and has more HP. But you will never know, might be ugly as f*ck!

Since it seems that "New" isn't a requirement for you, you would probably be pretty well off with an '02. The only difference is the addition of OnStar to Navi models for '03.

I have an '03, and I love the OnStar, but you could save alot of money getting pretty much the identical car in an '02.

I wouldn't rest my hopes on a "future" model, especially one that has no spy photos out.

No matter what year you get, 02 or 03, make sure you get the type S, i cant stress the fact that the power is always there and the price is right.

not to upset fellow TL owners here, but what else have you test driven for a car. The TL is an ok car, but if you search on rattle, transmision, or brake rotor warping, you will get a good idea of the quality of the car.

don't get me wrong the car is nice, but expect to have some down time on the car and be sure to but the 100k warranty.

Thanks for the replies.

emeraldTL I have looked at Lexus GS 300 (no test drive). I like the style, but the PRICE is HIGH. Of course I like the TL, but a reliable car is very important.

I'll have to test drive the Type-S too since many feel so strongly about the power.

take a look at infinity's g35. Honestly if it was out when I got my TL I probably would have gotten it instead. Price is very comprable to the TL and you can set it up any way you want and possibly save some money.

the G35 has full leather interior and much softer better leather interior and the AC can not be beat, and the performance is setting new bench marks in the near luxury segment.

I too think the lexus is too much money expecaily with the camry looking just like it.

Hey Charles,

That's exactly how I felt before 02 model came out.
