The bulb for my brake light is popped. What bulb do I get? Thanks

Just ask the parts counter any local part store will have them
Comes in 2 pack for 6 bucks- special bulbs for the TL of course!
Plan on the others burning out one after the other now- replace all 4 and be done
simple DIY to change

Just had one of mine go also. So is there an access in the trunk for the bulbs or do you have to pull all the clips and plastic shrouds off?

This is for the gen 2 car based on my 01 TL
Open trunk
undo 1/4 turn plastic screws on plastic lip at bottem trunk edge
remove cargo net from all mount points
pull on plastic hook that raises spare tire cover
place hook in slot in trunk lid
unscrew and remove large plastic screw mount for cargo net
now you can pry the cardboard cover corner piece of the truck liner a little- not too much !!!!
inside are 4 bulbs
1/4 turn left removes and pull bulb out of socket
replace bulb
TEST
replace cover
replace screws and cargo net
Test again
Done
Total Time- takes longer to read than do

simply just remove the large hood screw (it takes awhile) then pull the carpet out and remove the two lower bulbs.

i dont know the bulb off the top of my head but most stores will have either a guide or a electronic machine that will determine the type of bulb for you.

A while back, I had a similar question regarding light bulbs for my TL. Another member was kind enough to provide the following which I now share with you:

Listing for 99-03 TL (Know that for a certain bulbs there can be many different names or types depending on which has higher watts, I tired to list all the possible bulbs that will fit a certain socket)

Interior
*Note* 194 and 168 are the same bulb with different wattage, 168 is the brighter bulbs. All interior bulbs are 194 (except the trunk) but can be replaced with 168 or vise versa. Reverse/Backup light is 921(T16) by stock but can be replaced with 912(T15) and also 168/194 but brightness may be dimmish.

Map light = 194/168 (qty 2)
Glove compartment = 194/168 (qty 1)
Center console = 194/168 (qty 1)
Dome = DE3175/3175/T6 (qty 1)

Headlights = D2R (HID), D2S bulbs can be fitted with slight modification (qty 2)

Upper Brake Light = 7440 (qty 2)
