What brake caliper color? Engine Cover?

The calipers on my TL need a little bit of work in the finish department so I would like to hit them with some paint however I am having an incredibly hard time choosing a color to go with. I'm set on going with G2 coatings stuff.

I was thinking maybe an orange, gold or blue?

I'd like to lean more to the orange or gold but the car has Blue interior LEDs in the dome & map lights currently so I'm not sure if I should go with that scheme or not.

Here's the links to all the colors G2 has on hand:
Standard Colors HERE
Mustang OEM Paint Colors HERE
Other Custom Matched Colors HERE

Lemme hear your ideas Acurazine!

if you have the stock calipers,,paint them black for stealth-they are nothing to brag about

do all the suspension parts visable thru the rim,,above the tire etc black
black out the entire wheel well,,add led strip color matched to the interior!

BUT
If you have converted to a 4 or 6 piston badazz big brake setup with slotted rotors,,show them off!

I want to break up the black in the wheel well. More black is not the answer, I want a splash of color in there

^as said, the puny little calipers dont look to hawt painted.
if want to break up the black, try painting the wheels a different color.

a gun metal or a silver color would look 10x better than the current color wheels.

I would go siler, black, or grey the stock calipers painted bright colors just points out how small they are. However it is your car do what you wish with it

If your set on painting them, a dark blue or silver will look good without standing out too much against the wheels

the side panels- plenums- of the intake manifold shine up really nice with a buffer on drill and some metal polish

leave the top plastic cover off =for improved cooling

Who cares if they're smaller. Paint them orange that would look dope w your color. Not sure if the legend calipers are any bigger, but they're better and you can get both for about 100 bucks. Throw on some stainless steel lines and you'll be looking almost new.

^because ppl with real BBK's laugh at the imitation.
lol

a real BBK has more real estate. looks nicer, etc.
when you paint a small 1or 2 piston caliper, it looks funny.

no one is stopping the OP from doing what he wants.
it will just look funny.

Now that I own a car with factory brembos, I quickly notice calipers.
first thing my eyes go to.

how can you tell between an is250 with a 350 if debaged?!?
look at the brakes. the 350 will have a BBK.

How can you tell between a 6MT 04-06 TL with an auto?
Look at the brakes.
the 6MT's will have the brembos.

on that note, i can tell when some one paints their factory 2 piston caliper.
Usually, they dont even do it right, and you can see imperfections with their technique.

IMO OEM Calipers/Legends should always be Silver or Black or a Combination of Both.

My Legends in Black:

Red, Orange or Any Kind of BBK Copycat Color IMHO just look SILLY, You must not show off ANYTHING with less than 4 Pistons...

Wow you painted the fuck out those calipers. Looks great. Did it take long taping off around the pistons properly to get it painted in that area so well??

Its wasnt nothing complicated just used some Painting Tape and put a Mask in the Piston Area. I used Engine Enamel that is a little bit Thicker than Caliper Paint... Used Kitchen Oven at 80°C let it sit around 10 Min and Applied a Coat, Done in 3 Coats. Its been Holding up now around +6 Months with no Flaking at at All...

a BBK for my last car was a 2-piston upgrade. :o

You guys are really sour over painting some calipers, I think I'll go buy a BBK just so I don't have to listen to you go in depth about how poor taste it is to paint stock calipers.

Legend Calipers arent a BBK.... If not we are just mending the Idiocy of Acura of Not Installing them as OEM in the First Place... Hell the TL-S should have come with 4-pot Calipers....

Also If you dont Like Opinions (And Painting Calipers is a Nerve here in AZ) Why ask in the First Place?

Just do the Hell you Want just dont Paint them PINK/ORANGE/BLUE/ETC and Think we are going to have an Orgasm about it when You post it.

I asked for assistance in picking a color. Didn't ask you to get your dick hard over a few photos and didn't ask for a lecture on BBK's.

Painting Stuff is a Matter of Personal Choice....
