Went to the Track today

went to the track for the first time today...stock TL Type-S here are my two best times.

1) R/T-.240, 60-2.463, 330-6.694, 1/8-10.085, mph-72.28, 1000-13.019, 1/4-15.487, mph-91.63
Got my ass kicked by a SRT-8 that ran a 12.7

2)R/T-.421, 60-2.455, 330-6.669, 1/8-10.050, mph-71.39, 1000-12.971, 1/4-15.439, mph-91.88
This time i got my ass kicked by a mote carlo running a 9.8 or so

I got the headers and intake in my garage, havent put them in yet...car was complete stock. Both times i had the vsa shutoff, with the vsa on my times were 15.5 and 15.7

Nope, a Tl-P does about 15.0-15.3, and a Type S has 260 HP compared to the TL-P which only has 227.

you should be in the 14s. My TL-P ran a 14.9 with just a exhaust and K&N filter. Did you gate shift?

Dont worry, I ran a 15.7 in my TL-S. Was my first time at the track with a auto car. Went through the water box and had 0 traction in first or second. Second time i ran a 15.3, but had forgoten to turn off the traction control and the car kept going into limp mode. I guess next time I go I should be in the 14's from learning from my mistakes the first time.

your problem is your 60' 2.45 and 2.46 you should lower the pressure in the tires some. Play with it or get some stickier tires. but just try adjusting the pressure for now, more mods are not always the answer.

b4 u put any mods on u may wanna break 14s...lower the pressure in the front tires, torque braking is when u press the brake with u left foot and giv the car a little gas to keep the tach around 2500-3500 rpms it givs u a better launch and makes it so ur tires dont spin as much...gate shifting is dropping the shifterall theway to D1 and working ur way up the gate as u go thru gears...so u would go D1,D2,D3 and u shouldnt haveto use D4 cuz on the type s 3rd gear goes to 110 well at least on mine hehe

What was the temperature outside? Humidity? Sometimes those two really change the times at the track. Did you have VSA turned off?

Torque braking is basically how most people launch at the track with our cars. Basically hold the brake petal with the left foot, and at the same time gas with the right foot. Maybe get up to about 2500 RPMs and when you see green, just release the brake.

My best time with my TL-S was 15.1 and this was all stock. My time is on the right side, and this was the first time I been the to the track. Probably could have got better, but my R/T is horrible and I let off the gas cause I got into the brackets and was trying to get my dialed time. Probably could have hit 14.8~9 if it got cooler.
