Well hello there!
Hey guys!
I just joined this forum because on my 20th birthday I was gifted with a 2Gen TL!
(I had actually been looking around since my beloved '94 Mercury Villager had been dieing, but the actual first day of ownership was on my birthday.)
I had a E38 BMW 7-series (with the wide as heck ///M profile tires) that i got down to 10,000 but my parents didn't want me to have such a showoffy car and I wanted it soo bad but i knew what they meant and was also concerned about the reliability and price of parts (these cars cost so much to begin with for a reason!
And i was looking also at the Acura dealership at a nice Legend but i liked this one because it was a bit more modern and had more features and stuff in general (but MAN does that car look good still)
But because I live in Michigan and it was way too cold, I was not able to begin tooling around in my my car, heck I didn't even have the budget to put winter tires on(I just had those all season which are good at neither summer or winter)
SO my car was the 3.2Tl, I could not get the Type-S because I am still a student and the price difference was just too much($2,500) between the models and I figured I would be able to make a better car starting with the base model since I like to tune anyway. and i like the looks of the next generation but my neighbor of the same age has the Type-S of that and the CL-S and I could not deal with being so inferior
I come from a true Honda family, every car we have owned has been a Honda(accords preludes etc.) but now we are getting fancy with these new Acura purchases (my dad bought an '07 MDX and I will be posting on those forums as well, but its my dads car and he loves it too much to let me mod it so IDK how much I can contribute)
Anywhoo: I got to get a pretty good feel for the car before I got to posting here and i really like it
Pros:
The interior: I just like that it isn't symmetrical like everything you see in cars nowadays. It really stand out from my friends jettas malibus and saturns and is much more ergonomic the soft touch dash is nice.
The exterior: I like the look and all the angular lines that translate well into a sleeper car like status. My most definite feature is the trunk lid,I LOVE how the acura symbol is right in the middle with the a-c-u-r-a space below it, it sticks out and just looks clean, very nicely done japan.
Cons:
The interior: well, its not really a big deal but the rear seats do not have a lot of room. I think they could have increase it a bit by pushing the cushions further back from the door frame rather than sticking forward a bit(IDK its kinda hard to explain ill post pics later about what I mean)
the exterior:
well I feel like maybe the car should have been lowered a bit (I will probably do that)
and the rear bumper sits just a bit too high (but I will probably get a different bumper to solve that problem)
And the high profile make the tires look too skinny, hopefully after I lower it and inch or 2 i wont need to go and get some wider ones
well thats my views on this great car and hopefully I will be around these forums quite a bit now!
thanks guys!
