WDP Delima!!! (Sorry if this a repeat)
I have a WDP 2002 TL-S w/Navi & Parchment on order. I ordered this car without seeing the actual color of the white first. I saw a TL-S today ( non navi) in the WDP and was a little concerned. As far a normal driving goes, everyone gets little pebbles from the road and from other cars on the hood of their car. Will the WDP show these small knicks more and if i am ever in an accident will the WDP be a harder color to match. Please advise. The other color i would consider is the Green with parchment.

My yellow car's front end looks like it's about ten years old--it shows every nick and ding because of the dark material under the paint. We had a dark green Integra before that and even after three years the front end looked perfect.
I don't think there would be any difference in difficulty color-matching after an accident, though.
Oh, and by the way, that green car looked great for a week after washing it, while I'm lucky to get a full day with the yellow one. I would think white would be equally hard to keep looking primo.

I agree with lonny, the white is easier to keep clean compared to the darker colors. My dark blue Sub looks gross the next morning after I wash it. The white just looks a little dingy after awhile w/o a wash.
As far as hiding nicks and dings, I don't really know how the TL-S will do. The car has been hit by small rocks and freeway debris and has not shown any real signs of pits or nicks in the paint.
My white Legend does have some pits but it seems that a wax job hides the small dings by filling them somewhat. But even without the wax, they were not that obvious to begin with. On the other hand, my Suburban's paint nicks and dings are accentuated by a wax job.
Incidently, even if you do get a deep nick and you wax it regularly, it will not rust.
My vote is for the WDP.

BTW - I too have WDP, but I have a top notch paint specialist in the family.

Anyway, get what makes you happy or what causes you too lose less sleep.

I have WDP. Purchased in April. So far so good. My car always looks great, rarely look dirty. Our other car is a black SUV, needs a bath a week. Every spot shows.I think the dings and dents will show no matter what color. And if the body shop is worth their weight, the color will be ok. I suggest the Acura body shops though, cause some of the corner guys can't match certain custom colors. Anyway, the WDP is beautiful.

WDP, Parchment, no-nav. I love it. 3100 miles, no nicks anywhere. I carry a California Car duster with me, so I can dust the pollen off it. Otherwise, with a nice coat of wax (many brands out there) it will look nice for a long time.
The interior is nice, too. I figured the parchment would age better. Black would of been sportier, though.
Are you leasing your car? If so, tell the dealer that the resale me be diminished because of it. I'm sure they can put a dollar figure to it. Get some toys for your car with the $$.

It would depend on the weather, too. If your area has alot of construction zones, any color would look firthy in minutes..
I would stick with WDP if I were you. The color suits TL-S well!!! Not to mention it's one of the most beautiful color for TL-S...Andy Kuo
is WDP TLS in shortage now?
I am planning to buy the car soon
When I went check the inventory of all dealers near where I live(So Cal), I found out only 2 dealers out of 10 have only one white in stock. However, most of them have more than three black or blue in stock. Why? is it because the demand is too high or the supply is too low? Either way, it makes me really hard to get a good deal. What kind of deal are you guys getting now for a WDP in Southern California? I would like to know. Thanks.

I too was torn between the WDP and Green.
I went with the WDP because I had a black car that was impossible to keep clean.
The Green is a nice color but it is so dark it will always look dirty.
The WDP may not look as pretty right after a car wash but that lasts for about a half a day.
Get the WP.

I've got silver because it shows the lines of the car better than any other color, and it looks great when its dirty...just a little dull. Under the paint is black plastic on the bumper area, so every little nick from road crap will potenially reveal a black "dot". Same thing with the white...it wil show the black much more than green would have.
But, the white and sliver will look better when slightly dirty. Dark green would show every water spot and light dirt would totally show. I've had three black cars and one dark green, and that's why I'm driving silver now.

I had a 2000 WDP... hid the dirt very well. It had one small scratch that wasn't visible at all. However, my friend's WDP needed some paint work (due to accident damage) and was told that WDP is one of the hardest colors to match perfectly.
That notwithstanding, I say stick to your original choice and enjoy the WDP.

The good news is that WDP looks pretty good, even when it hasn't been washed/waxed in a week. The bad news is that (after hours of devoted cleaning) it still looks about the same!!!
Glass is half-full/half empty!

I have WDP, and I've had body work done to it (per my topic about two months ago).
The color matched fine, any lighter, diamond color will be harder to match since it's a 3 or 4-stage process. However, the WDP matched better than the Smoke Silver on our Benz when we had body work done to that.
WDP is great at looking clean all the time. And when you wash it, it's just a treat to see how much better the car looks w/ the shine back and the rims sparkling (it looks extra good w/ tire wet on the rubber).

I agree with all the WDP comments above, however (as I have mentioned before in other posts) the front and rear bumpers appear to be a different shade of WDP (ie, a yellowish tint); someone on this forum earlier referred to the color as "smoker's teeth" white.
When I called the Acura hotline about it David Hambre (Client Service rep) said, "Slight difference due to manufacturing process. Slight color variation, but in their final estimation the color is very close in matching and the difference is negligible in matching parts during the manufacturing process."
Maybe in very bright sun light their is a "slight color variation," but trust me, one can see the difference between the bumpers and the car's sheet metal. Now add the OEM Body Kit and the "slight color variation" really stands out.
Note: A letter is on its way to Richard Colliver, Exec VP Sales, Acura.

Because I live in Louisiana, I had to get a light car with light interior due to the heat and humidity. WDP was the only light color offered with the parchment interior. It hides dirt well, and it is very easy to sell a white car in the aftermarket. I don't know why, but I'm told by a car broker that white cars seem to bring a little more at auction. I don't have any scratches yet, so I can't comment on that. I am sure I will soon with all the uncovered dump trucks on the road here.
