Waxing Tips

I have been using Meguiars Gold Glass Clear Coat Liquid Wax on my car and i noticed that the shine seemed to go away after washing the car a couple of times. But last time i waxed, i used Meguiars Deep Crystal System Paint Cleaner (step 1) before applying the Gold Glass. The shine definitely lasts longer when both of these products are used together. So far, ive washed my car about 7 times after the last wax and it looks better than ever!!

Here is a little hint from the Middle Atlantic Meguires rep ( friend of mine): After waxing your car you may see some haze - very maddening. This is left over residue that just doesn't want to come off ( remember, easy wipe off can mean a not too long lasting wax job). Simply mist your just waxed car with your garden hose and dry it - perfection. Pro types can use Final Inspection if you want or if you are somewhere where there is no water. I've done this many times and it works well; happens where there is high humidity too. Please no one flame me if they disagree, I'm just passing along what I was told and what works for me on my dark blue TL. Good Luck!

what does it do when you add wax, does it make you car look more shinny and get rids of swirl and scratches?

Are you asking what waxing does for you? Wax builds a clear and shiny protective layer over your paint, and fills in imperfections on the surface. It repels water and keeps scuffs and marks away from your paint surface.

Go to www.zainobros.com and read all about it, then call Sal Zaino and ask him where a distributer is in your area.

It is a little more expensive, but your TL-S was more expensive than a camry, now wasn't it.... You owe it to your car to give it the best.....Plus, its lasts alot longer...

I would add:

On the question of what waxing does: most quality wax or polymer sealants also provide UV protection which helps maintain the paint/clearcoat.

On the price of Zaino: in the long run it is less expensive, since you put on VERY thin coats. A little goes a long way.

On the # of steps to apply: I still find the most time consuming part, and biggest PITA in applying Zaino or Blackfire (or wax) is thoroughly washing and drying the car. Applying and removing Zaino is far easier than regular wax, and doesn't leave crud in the cracks or stain the molding.
