Water In/Under Trunk Side Pockets

Noticed a bit of water in the trunk side pockets the other day & pulled them out. There was water under them in the dip there, but not enough to spill over into the spare tire well.

None of the carpets/side panels have any moisture on them. Is there a clogged drain I need to check?

Also, I think it's been this way since before I had the car. I got a flat a few years ago & had to shear off the spare tire holder because the threads were completely seized/rusted in.

Its weird because the rain drains are basically the spaces between the Trunk Gasket and the Car Body... There aren't any hidden tubes or anything like with the sun-roof.

There is a moonroof drain tube on the left side of the rear quarter panel. You might want to check that. It runs from the left rear corner of the moon roof down the inside of the sail panel into the trunk side pocket area and plugs into a valve that's attached to the sheet metal directing the water outside under the left rear bumper. It could be plugged up or knock loose feeding water to inside instead of outside.

It's worth a shot.

This ^^^ I had a leak in my trunk for years in the same spot as well as in the spare tire area. I could never figure it out until I was told to change the tail light gaskets. Changed both of them and never had a problem since.
