Watch that tranny carefully!
Watch that tranny carefully!
First, I'd like to say thanks to all the members of this board. I have learned so much here. With that said, I've tried to keep pace with people and their tranny problems so that I might be able to recognize symptoms when (not if) they surface in my own 2000 TL-P. Well, last night, I was driving along at about 55 when the TCS and Check Engine lights came on simultaneously. Knowing that this could be the beginning of something bad, I immediately headed toward home (about 25 miles away). I didn't make it 15 minutes before my transmission was toast. That was it. No pauses, hesitations between gears, noises weeks before...nothing. Just two lights, a few minutes, and me stranded on the side of the road waiting for a tow. I've got 84K on the car, so it should be covered. And I have a great dealership to work with in Pye Acura in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
But, beware. I guess I'm proof that the warning signs aren't always there to tip you off.
