Washing an engine bay

Washing an engine bay

Not sure if I'm posting in the right area but my bad... I just painted all the plastic pieces under the hood and before I put them on, I would like to wash the engine bay but I dont wanna F anything up... Can someone tell me what I need covered? I know the alternator is one but whatelse?

Nothing. Get a good engine degreaser and spray the motor. Let it soak then wash off. Just dont use high pressure, just use a garden hose and let it come out without a nozzle. and try not to aim at electrical connectors (though they will keep water out). Your alt doesnt need to be covered either.

then, spray some tire shine on some of the engine plastic covers/cowels etc etc that are plastic..

I like Engine Brite. You can get it in most all parts stores, they have a foaming style that i like. I usually use 2 cans to clean the engine compt (i put it on heavy)

When spraying the engine degreaser should engine be Cold, Warm, Hot ?

i wash all of mine by hand.

degreaser like mentioned. then armorall on black plastic and hoses.
