Warranty & YES I DID A SEARCH LOL
I was getting my car washed the other day and I picked up this Car and Driver Magazine, it had an article how Mitsubishi is going to EVO enthusiast websites and finding out what members have moded their cars and participate in racing events, you know the ones that they put cones out in parking lot and you make a run for your best time and street legal drag racing events. The article talked about this one EVO owner who participated in an event and his turbo went out on him well he said his warranty was voided before he even got to the Mitsubishi service shop; he is currently going thru a legal battle now. The article said that Mitsubishi denies going to enthusiast websites and actively searching for EVO owners who did modes to their cars and participate in legal racing events. Car and Driver said that this was strange from a company that advertise the EVO as an autocross racer and when owner’s purchase this cars to do this they are punished by taking away their warranties. I did not get the date on the magazine but on the cover it had the new Chevrolet Corvette with title 400HP!! Vette. Makes me wonder about if Acura/Honda is searching thru our website, wow talking about BIG BROTHER. :cop:

Two of my dealer service reps are on a-cl and they don't bust balls over the warranty stuff...
My friend was denied Evo warranty work for a problem with the shift lever after installing an intake. He filed suit immediately against the dealer, salesman, service manager and Mitsu. They replaced his shift mechanism under warranty...

here's the thread....there are links to a bunch of forums talking about this..
I know of someone who's brother did tons of astetic work to his car but no engine mods..... he had something break and supposedly mitsu said that it looked like he had removed the performance engine parts prior to bringing it into them, and they are going to viod his entire warranty...this case was also going to court I believe.
