Question warranty on tranny?

how long does the warranty for the transmission last? 50,000 miles or 100,000 miles? are there any high performance tranny out there that can replace the oem one so we don't have to keep worrying about it slippin.?

It's 7/100 but if your car is a repeat offender with a bad tranny, it doesn't matter....Acura will still put one in for free. Don't let the dealer tell you otherwise--I work for one. If they don't it's because your dealer is not trying to do anything for you. Acura warranty hotline will approve one even after 7/100. There are no trannys available for customer pay for the 00-03 TLs. Acura has them all for warranty recalls. What they might do is buy the part and make you pay the labor. Depends on how much the dealer goes to bat for you...trust me on this.

The tranny it self does not have a 7 year 100k warranty on it. As lon as your car is within the 7 years or 100k from the original purchase date they will keep replacing them for free. If you are past 100k and have one installed the warranty on the tranny is only 12k miles 12 month. some times acura will good will it past 100k.

My 2000 TL has 39,580 miles on it. I bought the car used. Would I still be covered under the 7/100 warranty even though I bought it used?

Yes, the part does have a 12/12 warranty on the replacement, but what I meant was that you can still get it replaced if you're inthe 7/100 period; you can also get a goodwill after the 100k period.

correct, typically they start limiting it around 115k, and they they usually dont give you a warranty on the replacement at all.
