As I mentioned on my first posting today, I just bought a 2000 Acura 3.2 in show room condition for $14,000. Love the car but as I read through these messages I get a little concerend, as you can see in my "tranny" messages.
It has 37000 miles, I am going to call an Acura dealer ( I bought mine off a used car lot) and see if I can still get an Acura warranty, but I am sure that if I can , it may only be for a few more months and I don't know what that will cost...
Should I just look into getting a Great West, third party warranty?

Welcome and congrats on your purchase! ![Cheers](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/cheers.gif)
If your '00 has less than 50k miles, you should be covered under the standard Acura warranty (4 yr./50k). If not, definately get the extended 100k warranty..cause' if your tranny does fail, your not stuck paying for it out of your own pockets. Be careful when purchasing 3rd party warranties..most of the time, these 3rd party warranties will limit what is/isn't covered under warranty. Your best bet would be purchasing the extended 100k warranty directly through Acura.

woh $14000 for 37k? Thats a da** good price. Just picked up mine yesterday: 2000 TL $14300 41K miles.
I called acura's customer service to verify if my vin number qualified for the tranny extended warranty before i bought. Pretty sure all 2000's tranny is covered tho.

All 5-speed automatic transmissions for 2000 TLs are warrantied for 7yrs/100,000 miles as a result of the problems Honda was having with them. As fsttyms1 pointed out, the rest of the warranty is 4 yrs/50,000 miles.

Ok, I will look into the warranty for sure...
Hey, I looked at the tranny fluid, and I think its ok, I compared it to other cars and they all looked a little brownish.........
I thought it shouldn't be brownish at all?
