Warranty
Just a question...
My fried wants to buy 2002 Tl - great dill but here is a trick:
Car has a salvage title in one state but was retitled in another and now has a CLEAN title, no marks at all.
The warranty is voided but I thought maybe there is a way to buy some kind of a warranty from Acura or maybe renew the original warranty, the car is in perfect condition and fully inspected.
Any ideas...
Thanks.

Saying a car with a salvage title is perfectly clean in an oxymoron...You may find someone other than Acura to sell you some sort of warranty, but if you need to use it, you may fidn them not honoring it. Same thing with bank financing on a salvage title...
I have to ask why? My momma always said if it looks too good to be true, it is (or was that FGump?)!

Warranty
I don’t know about the "oxymoron" but I saw the title after the car was retitled- NO MARKS or anything that states that the car was salvaged- nothing, just a regular Title... 9 but probably no warranty)
The car was retitled in another state...

I would not recommend getting a salvage unless you know how to fix the car by yourself. But still there are tons of electronics in there that may go wrong.
So, avoid the salvage and go with the non-salvage that comes with warranty.
Just my $0.02
Cheers !!!

i bought an 02 tls w/ a salvaged title (fixed after crash) flukes within the first month, its been great. however, you have to take the tranny issue into account.
anyway, how do you retitle a salvaged car to make it have a clean title? will carfax report reflect this? and how much does the salvage title effect your resale value?

if the car now has a clean title, i would call your local dealership and ask to run a VIN status Inquiry. they will ask for your vin number and good stuff like that.. and tell you the info they have on the car. including any recalls that still have to be done on it. since acura is offering the warranty.. they will be able to give you the most info on it. have fun and hope this helped

as far as I know this car had a salvage title in NY and was retitled in PA ... no remark on a new Title about salvage history.
It still will show on a carfax report...
and according to the local dealer- the warranty on that car was cancelled.
I was wondering is it possible somehow to renew the original warranty...?
