Warranty?
Warranty?
What's the factory warranty on TL's?
I have a 2003, with almost 12,000 miles and I'm looking on getting an extended through a 3rd party place like www.warrantygold.com. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Ian

I bought from warrantygold. Then the other day I got a letter from them saying the insurance company behind them went under, and my policy may be worthless. I think this affected many other warranty companies as well, used car dealers, etc.
I am not sure exactly what the deal is here, no time yet to figure it out. But I think if I were to buy another extended warranty, I'd get the hondacare. They are most likely to be around to honor it.

i saw a message on their site re: this.
i had a 3rd party warranty when I had my VW Jetta and they did about $2000 in repairs, and when I traded the Jetta in I got a check back from them for $900 becaused I had 3 years left.

Stay away from WarrantyGold. They have just filed Chapter 11 and are not honoring extended warranties. I got a letter from them as well because I paid $1100 for a 7 year/100K bumper-to-bumper warranty last year and now it is worthless.
To answer your original question: Acura warranty is 4 yr/50K miles bumper-to-bumper and depending on where your VIN falls in range, your transmission might be covered for 7 yr/100K miles (you'll have to check with your dealer to be sure).

You may have some recourse if an insurer of this sort goes belly up, check with your State Insuance Commisioner, or Department of Consumer Affairs. Insurance companies are always pulling some scam like this. Generally an insurer has to be registered with the insurance commision of the states they do business in and a fund is created to protect the policy holders. It generally covers the more important lines of covarage, like auto, home, fire and liability and might cover you for the duration of the policy. Check it out good luck.
i had the option of getting the hondacare extended, but I couldn't spend that money at the time. now i don't wanna go back and spend 2k on the extended warranty so I'm looking 3rd party.
anybody have any experience with any other companies? i wouldn't wanna spend over a G and have the place go chapter 11.
