Question Warranties: do they cover tires??

I have a "bubble" on one of my front tire.
Do they cover it for warranties??

It cost like about $175 each for the same tire.
(TL Type S - P215/50R17 93V Michelin MXM4)
Should get the same one?? any other recommanded tires?

Thanks

I have read a few discussions in the past in this forum. Some dealers do replace it for free and some do not.
You best bet is to bring it to the dealer and see that they say.

Hope this helps.

Cheers.

see if you can replace them for free, if not, this is the perfect time to upgrade all 4, as these MXM tires stink anyhow, and should never have been on a 260HP FWD.

I think the dealer will cover it though, and Mich. will probaly reimburse them.

Unless your dealer wants to be nice, bubbles are not covered by warranty. They are impact breaks due to running over something or hitting a pothole.

Michelin's tire warranty covers manufacturers defects. A buble is not a manufacturers defect. Some tire retailers, STS, Pep Boys sell warranties that cover this, but that is from the retailer, not the tire manufacturer.

Good luck. BTW, how many miles on the tire?

I don't know if you can get it repaired, but when I got a screw in my tire, I brought it into the dealership and they fixed it on the spot! Actually, I ended up waiting a while, so they even washed the car for me.

I am also curious about tire replacement. I have 22K miles and am told the max for the OEM Michelins is about 28-30K. I priced replacements and they are about $300 more than Yokohama's equivilant V rated tire. The only difference according to Discount Tires is the Yokohama's are harder rubber, cornering is slightly reduced, but wear is increased.

The bubble is not covered under warranty. Mine separated on the sidewall and therefore is covered.

Any feedback is appreciated on all tire replacement.
