warentee with headers

ok so ive been sitting on my obx headers for a while now...cus i suspect the tranny to blow...well checked the fluids and its brown...so yeah...question is ..... should i install the headers..??? has anyone been denied warentee work cus of headers or performance modification? i would think that since tranny blows and headers give such huge increase that they would have a decent chance at harassing us...but...has anyone got harassed, and if so which dealer? i got my car at weir canyon....anyone know about their service center? thanks

JON

if you are going to have to be without the car for a while anyway, why install the headers? I'd wait. I doubt you will have warranty problems, but why chance it when you aren't going to be able to really push the car anyway. Just my $.02

I could be completely off-base here, but I would think it would be okay to have Comptech headers installed by an authorized dealer, but not OBX headers. I mean, it's always up to your dealer, but in general only the Comptech equipment falls under your original factory warranty. If the dealer wanted to pitch a fit they'd have a basis for it.

The deal is its totally dealer dependant. Some dont care about mods, and even sell comptech and other aftermarket parts; others though frown at even the slightest modification. What your dealer is like is basically the luck of the draw.

Yeah, I was under the impression that Comptech (Acura/Honda) was treated like L-Tuned/TRD (Lexus/Toyota) or Dinan (BMW) by the appropriate dealers, meaning that mods from those manufacturers installed by a certified dealer fall directly under the factory warranty. I'm not entirely sure why I had that impression, though...perhaps just from perusing this forum.

Here is the deal

The dealers can decide on what they want to do. a chip is a no no automaic void of everything, comptech is ok according to acura of bridgewater. i had Head, intake, exa, put on by them and had them do all the instal. this way nethin that gets messed up is their fault, i recomend having the dealer put ure items in.
