Want to slam my 01 CL Type-S. Help!

I just got a 2001 CL Type-S and I want to lower it. I'm considering the Eibach sportline springs but question if they will be low enough. Does anyone know how the Ground Control or Shunk2 coilovers are? (sleeves and springs) or (complete shock w/spring) Let me know!

Dude, hope your not planning on driving during the winter here, because you'll hate yourself if you go that low (you know what I mean.) Eibach sportline's are about as low as you'll want for a daily driver. You'll also need camber correction at that height, of which there are none available as far as I know. Prokit's, H&R sports, or Comptech's on the other hand would look tite as he!!, and no need for any camber correction. This, of course is just my opinion.....

My bad Paul. There is camber correction available for our cars. Tim's site www.autocarparts.com has them. Sorry.

If I were you I'd go with true coilovers (the complete kit, including shocks) because this way you can get the exact drop you want and have the convenience of being able to raise the car in the winter if need be. Also, some coilover systems will cost you just about the same amount as going with any other spring set or coilover sleeves and Konis. The complete coilover kit will be a bit more, but you have the ability to adjust your cars height, which the spring/shock setup won't allow for. Also, the ride will be much more comfortable than with the sleeve/shock combo from what I hear. Everyone with the coilover sleeves says that the ride is extremely harsh.

And if you're worried about the camber issue, there are camber kits available for the CL-S, just check out autocarparts.com

Thanks for all the info. Like I said I just got the car about a week ago and have been researching all my options. What are the guys using that have about a 1/2 gap between the tire and the fender something like Black Shadow's or any of the TL's in the gallery that are real low. ( 0- 1/2 in. gap)?

And I also read what Mack Daddy said on the exhaust about the Greddys being louder than the comptech's.
Jim how do your comptech's sound? and what is everyone's opinion on other exhuasts HKS, GREDDY, COMPTECH, Etc...
Which are louder? Fit better? and perform the best?
Thanks

Paul

Not a problem my friend, that's what we're here for. As for my Comptech exhaust, they sound fantastic. Just loud enough to make it sound like a true muscle car. That's exactly what I wanted, as I just turned 39, and didn't want anything too radical. The fit, and finish are 1st rate as well. If you'd like to see/hear them in person, let me know.

When are people going to understand that coilovers or lowering springs have nothing to do with rubing and having to rolled your fenders, neither the size of your rims in diameter. Is all about how wide your rims are and the offset of the rim.

They are sleeves and springs. Go to the top of this page where it says suspension for all the suspesion parts for our TL's.

Sounds good Mackdaddy
I'm out of town right now but when i get settled back in Columbus I would like to meet up some where.
Is the exhuast a stright thru design and have you heard other exhaust's? Being only 20 I might be interested in something a little more radical. But I definality want to hear/see your before I make a choice.

The Comptech's are a straight thru design. Have not heard any other's on a Type S. I've heard Thermals, and Greddy's on 4 bangers. Sorry not much help there. I'd say you being 20, you'll want something louder. Maybe not.... you'll have to hear them for yourself.

C-ya,
Jim
