The little Golf thing played with me the other day and actually came out equal to my TL-S.

 

He must have had a chip, amongst other things. A stock GTi in any engine configuration is fast, but not that fast.

 

VR6 or 1.8T?

the turbocharged VR6 is the one u gotta beware of...

the 180hp 1.8 has limited power....chipped doen't make much more difference...

 

No Frolich is right the 1.8T engine's chipped makes a big difference.

It's not BS, my friend as a VW 1.8T and his bro has a Audi 1.8T chipped.

 

yup, audi or vw with a chip could be killing, specially the 1.8t

 

Turbo VR6? Never knew VW made factory turbo v6's.
Or maybe it's aftermarket.

 

i was in a packed '00 gti turbo the other day and we raced a new a4 turbo.
the a4 was always trailing behind until we hit 130 and then we slowed down.
both cars were stock.
not bad huh

 

VW never made a turbo vr6..But i have one ..has to be done aftermarket...and a tl-s

 

of course it's aftermarket...neuspeed made a lot of aftermarket stuff for this high potential VR6 engine...it might looks it's underachieved...but it has very big potential to pump high hp....

i heard there are some VR6 can get 300+hp at least

it has a lot more potential to upgrade compares with the 1.8T

 

but at the same time it is $$$ to upgrade on a VR6...

 

My car made 330 whp at 13 psi with low compression pistons. Be running 20+ psi as soon as i get my engine management wired up.

 

should be somewhere near 400hp with 20psi
