Ok, long story short,

Car rolling, turning onto a big street, floored the car.
car on normal auto mode,
1st gear shift to 2nd at like maybe 4300 rpm (I think, not sure it was in normail auto)
then redlined 2nd gear (i think) it was up there in the high 6000 rpms like 6500-6700
then felt a shift to 3rd, then my friend and i heard this air releasing sound. sorta like those blow offs or hydralics.

So my question is what is that hissing noise? Anything to do with vtec?

and yes it was my car, cuz no other car was close to me.

Do you have any intake? Because my car makes the same noise but its because of the intake manifold with intake. when you're at full throtle the intake gives u that regular deep intake sound but if u let off the gas slowly and you're not full throtle it hisses while u let go. i have aem short ram so i can hear it more often, it sounds like what your're talkn about, a blow off valve sound or hissing. i hope i helped

ya the car runs fine the 2nd stage deff works

 

i want a 2 stage intate.....

 

cool... so i do know now that both stages of my vtec is working fine =)!!!!!

 

DONT GET THE 2ND STAGE AIR INTAKE VALVE CONFUSED W/ VTEC Opps caps yes they work hand and hand vtec opens the intake valve feather alo

 

Did you have your sunroof shade open? I always hear that sound when I have the shade open.

Unfortunately, I don't know specifically what causes it.
