What can too much V-tech-ing my engine do to the car later on? I am planing to drop my car on 19eez and sale it like in five years, so i dont want anything to go wrong like right when the warr. ends. How much is too much V-Teching anyway. I try not to do it more then twice a day, unless if i am in the freeway. Any tips?? Help???? Oh by the way i am getting mu front & back bumper painted on Monday due to cracked paint syndrome and was wondering if you guys recomened me to get the front lip or maybe the sides and the back too. What do yahl think.

You can VTEC all you want, that is what VTEC is made for. It's not like NOS where you can only uses "occasionally". VTEC is engaged at 3800 RPM i believe, so anytime ur about that RPM range, ur VTEC kicks in. Nothing bad will come from using VTEC

Um...I don't know how valid that statement is. I could be wrong but last time I checked, you don't get into VTEC range until about 5500 rpm.

But I don't understand what you guys are saying. VTEC is on ALL the time. It doesn't "kick" in. That "kicking in" action is VTEC changing the cam profile at 4800rpm.
It is not on all the time. The standard cam is in use until more power is called for. Then the VTEC system changes over to the cam lobes that open the intake valves (on the 3.2) longer and deeper. This source of better breathing, along with more fuel give you the VTEC kick.
