Exclamation VSA light issue

Wife's car, 2002 TL-S with 224.8K on original tranny(!). Tranny started missing shifts from 2-3 and 3-2. Rebuilt by local, good indy shop. FWIW, the clutch for those gears went south.

However, before went into shop, had VSA light intermittent. Cleared on restart. Got car back today and wife had VSA light come on ~15 miles on way back home. I test drove it this evening and didn't get the light. BTW, check engine light is on. Gonna pull the codes...don't have reader to do so (yet...will v. soon).

So...questions:

. Tranny related? If so, what might be related?

. Other things to look for? Codes may help?

Figures it went out 3 weeks (~1500 miles) away from her retiring from the long commute .

Thanks in advance for any help you can give. It'll help preserve domestic peace and harmony (and cushion the blow when I put $2K of aero stuff, paintwork and suspension goodies into the E39 :/).

Welcome to the Froum.

Get the codes read first. It may be related and we can help you better. If not we can try to assist the light issue better. It may be something as simple as a wheel speed sensor?
