Has anyone ever did a vertical door conversion on their TL? Some guy at this store I go to is trying to convince me to get a conversion kit from a company called Decah. It goes for about $1500, i believe, i checked out their website at decah.net and I actually kinda want to get it whenever i receive my tax refund.

 

Do it bro..that would look insane! u will be the first =) just make sure u have some other mods done to the exterior bcuz it would look kinda weird on a stock car IMO

yeah, you dont see that very often on a 4 door car. actually never think ive seen it on anything but a coupe.

just thinking out loud...the kit is $1500? how much would labor be? I can't imagine that being an easy job. and wouldn't the rear doors hit the front door?

 

I'm sure someone could do a photochop of a TL with the doors open.

If you check out their website, they only show pics of 2 doors with it done.

I can't see how they could do it with all 4 door unless the rear doors swing up and back...

 

i already got a price on this.. its 3000 because the kit is for a civic or an accord and the kit has to be fabricated for our car, plus parts of the car have to be painted where factory pieces are removed. i would have done it already, except it looks horribly stupid on a 4 door car. the place i was gonna have it done had a 2 door accord done and a 4 door integera, the accord was the most beautiful thing ive ever seen and the integera looks retarded. also, you can not lamborghini(excuse my spelling) the two back doors, so i got a price of 2600 to suicide the back 2 doors. anyone with a cl should do this project today, but its no good on a tl..

 

where did u get quoted that price??? auto pro? that place is wack.

 

You can't do that to a 4 door, it's just doesn't work and if you just do the front 2, it's going to look kinda lame. Here's an idea, do the front 2 and get change the rear to suicide style, that would be pretty ill.

i got a quote at mad mods. mad mods definitly does the sickest, best work around.. theres a picture of an accord without a roof with lambo doors on the type s forum. mad mods built that car. actually the car was flatbedded to south florida from new york, so it could be safe to see mad mods does the best work between here and new york. i WILL have mad mods does 1000's of dollars of work to my car, i just havent figured out exactly what sick **** i want done.

 

i've never heard of that place... where in florida is it?? heres a few ideas for ur car... shave the handles, make the hood open up forward or to the side, make the rear doors suicide, put one of those rag top sunroffs (the ones that are over like almost the whol roof), mold the bumpers, but the value sports body kit and have the front bumper custom fitted, and i dunno what else.

 

Wow, I think the value of that car just went down $5000 I saw a Jaguar one time with those brown colored LV rag tops, it was so stupid looking.

 

ar you talking about lambo style doors or gullwing? i think either would look out of place on a sedan, but gullwing doors would look better. it might not look great w/ all the doors open, but imagine pulling up somewhere and having power gullwing doors open up. that's PIMP

 

no no no its not a rag top... its a sun roof except its much bigger than the stock one and it sort of like a cloth.

 

Mad Mods is actually in Ft. Lauderdale...it's a pretty well known body shop around South Florida...alot of my friends go to them for body work....here's a website www.madmods.com and i think if you just did suicides in the back it would look nice...but i dunt think a sedan looks good wit vertical doors
