Venom 400

I was wondering what kind of performance gains would be expected with the Venom 400 control module????

I think they are available for the Legend and on the legend board the viper was deemed as "crap". I don't think a control module is worth it on a TL. If you want to mess with engine control get a
V-AFC. Then again, gains with the vafc have been shown to be minimal and if you don't know what you are doing then you will do more harm than good.

All the Venom does is increase the amount of fuel being delivered at a given throttle position. Basically if you were to depress the gas pedal 25% the engine would respond to as if it was "say" 40%. Once you floor it (100% throttle) however it can only deliver 100% fuel. What this amounts to is a percieved gain in low end power especially on automatics. It does not add a single horsepower to your car...not one. The only thing the Venom is good at is wasting your gas and money.

and on the tl the way to gain power by adjusting the fuel curve is by leaning it out.

Actually it does not change your fuel curve one bit. It just makes your car behave as if you are pushing the gas pedal down further than you actually are. For instance pushing your gas pedal to 85% would be like flooring the pedal when the system is engaged.
