Valve Adjustment

I am finally gettin to my valve adjustment. I haven't gotten around to getting a service manual yet so if anyone can help, what are the valve specs for the 2003 TL-S? Thanks. Any help is much appreciated. Also, any other things I should know about before attempting to re-adjust my valves? I heard something like I'll need a to put in a new head gasket everytime I remove the head, etc. Any information would be helpful. Thanks again.

why would you be trying to adjust your valves???? they dont need to be. and if you dont already know that you need 2 new VALVE cover gaskets and not head gaskets i wouldnt be trying this on my own. i have almost 152,000 miles on mine and still dont need it. i checked it once around 80k and the lash was perfect. dont play with it unless something is wrong, in which case have it done under warranty

There is something wrong. I've had a check engine light for the past 6 months. Fuel injectors and low clearance on valves were listed as possible problems after using a Honda scan tool. Misfire on all 6 cylinders. I already cleaned and checked the old injectors and they are not the problems. So it must be the valves. I've also talked to an Acura-tech and it seems as though there is a common little problem on some Type S's. The exhaust valves seem to tighten up on their own somehow (I don't know how but that's what he says). He's a pretty respectable guy on the CL board. I've tried having it done under warranty and time after time at various different dealerships, they all refuse to do any work because of my mods and threaten to void my warranty. They also don't give me any information as to possible causes, only told me misfire codes were appearing. So after I got a job at Honda, I plugged in the scan tool and did a diagnostic on my own. The professional techs there are doing it for me, I won't touch it personally because I don't know much about head work. Now you know where I am at in this situation.

I think the valve specs would be located under the hood but as of now I am using a CF hood and do not have access to my OEM hood because it's at a friends house who is on vacation at the moment. Can anyone give me the valve specs?

Intake 0.20-0.24mm (0.008-0.009")
Exhaust 0.28-0.32mm (0.011-0.013")

The locknut is 14lb.-ft. when you're done.
