The one thing that bothers me everytime I read about stolen headlights is that I never got a valet key when I picked up my 2003 TL-S and the dealer has no idea where it is. I was wondering if anyone else did not receive the valet key; and if so did anything happen to their car. BTW I purchased my car new in Sept 2002.

 

You can buy blank OEM keys from the net. And then take the blank to the dealer and have them program it.

 

Complain to the dealer, if you bought it brand new, they have no excuse but to have a valet key for you. If they don't comply, please call Acura Care, the # can be located in your manual (they did include that right?).

 

I bought mine used (02 type S)
I only got ONE key and fob. No Valet, no spare key.

My car is parked in an apartment parking lot with 24 hr "security" - its really just the maintenance guy doing his rounds.
Nothing has happened to it. They probably don't recognize it since I removed the pinstripe and sunroof deflector. yeah right.

I wonder if they do have some underground sh*t that would pay primo bux to buy keys that go "missing", sleep on them for a while (wait some time), track the VIN (easy to do that online, Carfax, etc..) find it and make an easy get away.

I hope to keep mine garaged all the time once I move to the new house next week!

 

When I bought my car used, all it had was a valet key and one fob. I forced my salesman to cut me a master key and give me another fob before I took delivery of the vehicle.

 

when i bought my car used i got 3 keys and fobs and one valet key - it was a sweet deal because i used one of the keys for my remote start and i still had 2 keys and the valet.
