I only have the UR crank pulley in my 2003 Acura TLS. A few months ago, my powersteering pump failed, there was spilt fluid all over the engine bay. I look her into a local shop, and the front, and passenger motor mounts were replaced, along with the PS pump. No more problems. After a month, I would hear a noise when turning the steering in the morning. This went away eventually, but now I have a constant humming noise, when driving above 40mph, which gets louder, the faster I go. I'm taking the car in again this week, but I thought I'd ask: does having just the UR crank pulley kill the power steering pump? what could be causing this noise?

 

Sounds like a bad wheel bearing.

Driving it to redline all the time is not good for anything though~

 

the person installing it may be over tightening the belt

 

ahh the old overtighten the belt trick---3rd time I fell for that this month!

 

How much does the wheel bearing cost to replace?
