UR PULLEYs?
quick questions? how well does a stock diameter ur pulley perform? is it worth the money? if i were to get a pulley this would def be the only one and only brand as well! i have about a 3000watt stereo system can a lightweight ur pulley handle this? how are the performance gains? anybody have this with a big stereo like me?

the stock diameter is suggested if you have more than 600 watts-
the alternator is turning a little slower at idle- just enough to not repower the battery fully as its drained from all the electrics of the car (engine sensors, fuel injection, lights, fan, seat heat...) plus the sound system
the lightweight UNDERDRIVE is for the rest of us with regular stock tunes
both are lightweight, meaning stock is approx 10 pounds and UR is less than 2 pounds total with the shipping box!
It frees up hp already in the motor by getting to vtec faster,,wayyyy faster

I'm not ready to purchase yet, but I couldn't even find a stock diameter lightweight pulley. There are lots of underdrive lw pulleys, but the stock size seem to be an endangered species. Anybody find a stock size?

It is NO different than the stock dia ur pulley vs the oem one as for power for your stereo. Its the SAME dia. Its just lighter weight and thats where the power comes from

I know exelerate has it listed on their website, but you don't get the choice of choosing stock diameter or underdrive during checkout. I think they are sold out of the stock size, but let us know for sure if you order.

try calling Josh/excelerate- iirc UR was going to cease production of stock size, but he will have the current info
bomz is another brand of good repuatation to ck for stock size in lightweight style

Our manufacturing processes follow strict quality control measures ensuring superior products that are attractive, durable, and most of all reliable. Our pulleys are held to .001” tolerances, usually reserved for aircraft, medical, military and space manufacturing programs. All pulleys are CNC machined and 0 gram balanced and carry a full warranty from Unorthodox Racing.

DOH! I was going to say UR probably made them for XLR8, but I didn't know for sure. Kind of like generic brands at the grocery stores. Even if the pulleys weren't made by UR, I wouldn't hesitate to by XLR8 brand products.
I will likely go for stock diameter myself, even though I don't have a jacked-up stereo or anything. I like being able to use stock belts that I can get at any auto parts store. Next you're going to tell me that belts that fit underdrive pulleys are available at parts stores.

iirc the Gates brand belt fits best with the edge of the UR pulley-
no noise issue as some others may produce
Josh will send the correct belt with the pulley if you want, or give the part number and get at local store

not that you can really see
Most makers will use the good grade of `billett` aluminum block and shave away the excess in a CNC machine to make a pulley or whatever part
bomz has been in use on gen2 CL's for years with no problems,(see their threads) it doesnt have any laser etched fancy to it, but our megamod is happy with his~
There is always the danger of poor quality and part breakage with anything- no matter how much it cost
pulley failure would cause severe if not total engine damage
BUT-I have yet to read of such failure here on azine of any brand
