upgrading to 2003

I finally got my red 99 TL totally fixed, eVERYTHING, spent about 2-3K on it. 2 new rims, EGR, Catalytic, timing belt, spark plugs, water pump, air vents, trannie flush etc etc etc.

I was like this car is good to go for the next 100K miles. Well it is, but I found a buyer, and well she's a lady and the color fits her well.

I was trying to find a car today because she wants to pick the car up monday, and Luckilly I found a 2003 Silver TL with 55K miles. Silver on black, looks yummie. The black interior is very very clean, and the car drove like a champ with the 6spd automatic.

I sold my 99 for $7500, I am losing some $$ because I spent a lot fixing it, but that's ok, it's to a friend's mom in law and she's a nice lady.

On the other hand, I got a killer deal on the 2003, I'll post the $$ in 1-2 days when everything goes through hopefully.

Now i need a spoiler, I just hate those stock rims on the 03, I like the Type-S rims, does anyone know how much they are new from Acura? I get a 25% discount.

Honda does not make a 6-speed auto for the TL (not yet) and definitely not for a 2003 TL. Has an upgraded 5AT that's less likely to get trashed...

Not sure why you'd want to 'upgrade' from a '99 to a '03 ... but that's a personal taste (ie can transfer mods from one car to another) ... but I would have thought you'd go a different direction (ie 6MT CL-S). At least that tranny in that car is far more reliable and depreciation on that car has taken a severe beating since it has been discontinued.

If you want to change your name, PM astro -- he's the guy you wanna talk to!

Thanks! yes you are right, it's a 5 speed aUto.
The car is just way different, the interior is very clean compared to my 99, no scratches, dents, rips etc. The leather is perfect. The 6 cd changer works and plays burned CD's. i think the 03 Tranny has a warranty so I don't have to worry much. I am gonna do the 60K miles service on it in 1-2K miles so it's good to go.

I haven't delivered the 99TL, but the person is getting the check now. If this person passes on my car, I'll put it on sale on this board. I didn't have any mods in it, except a full size spare.

You can call Acura with the VIN number or register your TL on OwnerLink to see if the transmission is covered by the extended warranty.
